How does a prelude 2.2 fair as your only car?

My commute is about 8 miles, which is probably about as short as it will ever be.

I'm currently running a rock solid 2010 volvo c30... but perhaps it's now or never for a car with a bit more performance etc. I can't afford a TVR/Lotus.

What should I expect in terms of running costs (mainly thinking about parts and servicing here)?

Should I be worried about the body/chassis on a circa 2000 car?

(perhaps I should of put in Honda section).

I had the 2.2 VTI and i have to say it was fairly boring, although the 4WS was a novelty for a while. For the same money i would be looking at Accord Type-R. Despite being a saloon, it was a far better drivers car.

I had a 2.2 Vti, bought at 7 years old and 42k miles, as a daily driver for eight years - couldn't bear to part with it. I never found it boring, in fact I thought it was the antidote to boredom. It did 33-35mpg week in, week out no matter if it was hammered or pussyfooted and the only thing that failed unexpectedly in that time was the ignition switch - which is actually a well-known problem and simple to change. Sold it on eventually to a lad who was going to cherish it, he promised, at 120k miles. I saw it parked, back along, in Limoges. For two pins I'd buy it back.

As the internet argot has it:
+1

A stock Accord type R is a cracker, I had one for 10 years.
Now cheaper than potato,

No easier or harder than any other Honda. Parts can be slightly more expensive than other mainstream Marques however all the Hondas I have had have been bulletproof so cost of parts never really mattered.
