Changing the rear tyres the other day at a local tyre place. Couldn't help but wonder what the part is that I have shown in the red box. I assume the parts above it (Blue Square) is the brake line but I'm not very knowledgeable about braking/chassis/suspension parts. I asked the guy changing the tyre what it was but there was a bit of a language barrier. The car up on the lift next to mine with all wheels off didn't seem to have any similar part on it's rear drums (Think it was a MK1 Ford Focus IIRC)
Also as you can see the drum housing is very rusty, no advisories on the last MOT for it but since then some sort of black vinyl/plastic surrounding the drums has come free on both sides, you can see where it was from where there is no corrosion. Will this be an MOT Failure?
