Very straight forward if you have done this type of thing before. Clearances are:

Intake:

0.21 - 0.25 mm (0.008 - 0.010 in.)

Exhaust:

0.25 - 0.29 mm (0.010 - 0.011 in.)

It's the old style nut and screw for adjustment. The only awkward thing I had to do was bend the feeler gauge by 90 deg at the end to miss the inlet manifold. It shouldn't take much more than an hour. Get back to me if I Can be any more help.

took ep3 to local garage mentioned valve clearances need doing and the bloke said on your car there hydraulic!. wtf is he on about, it seems to me not alot of mechanics know about the ep3 and valve clearances. il try somewhere else. is there any members on here who are close to me (cleethorpes) east coast who could sort my car. il gladly come to you within reasonable distance of course and treat you for doing my valves. im pretty sure they want doing as when driving i hear a metal tinny sound coming from engine, also on history it doesnt mention anything about valves only the norm. so if theres any fellow ep3 lover out there near hull, scunny or doncaster who could do my valves and give my car the once over, check timing chain etc id be very grateful. id happily pay you mechanic rates. just want a pro,and theres a few on here.....taa 07909788987 my no (andi)

I'm not local so can't help but one tip is it would be better for someone to come to you as the clearances should be checked with the engine stone cold.

I had mine done at Ricardo Emiliani Honda Specialist in Lincoln which isn't too far from you.
Paid £70 which included the new rocker cover gasket as well.

What mileage is your car on? The Valve clearances should be checked and adjusted every 25k miles and the chain is a lifetime item so unless it has been run low on oil or over revved a lot then the chain should be fine. Mine was still in good condition after 130k miles.

If you're planning on getting anything else done I highly recommend Area Motorsport in Cheadle, Staffordshire. Nowhere near you I know, but yeah. Main dealer Honda shouldn't charge more than £100, I had a price from them in the past. They need doing every 25k by the way
