Yes, EP3 has to pass out the other side of chav ruination yet before it becomes rare and desirable enough. All the currently collectable iconic hot hatches have been through that culling process.

There are about 14000 EP3's left and they are built to last, hardly rare.

For comparison there are about 700 DC2's, 300 DC5's and around 100 EK9's left. They are genuinely rare, excellent and iconic cars that have already started appreciating (maybe not the DC5 just yet), all can be had for clean facelift EP3 money.
Accord Type-Rs are getting pretty thin on the ground now too, think I'll probably keep hold of mine.
Definitely! I had the opportunity to buy a low mileage one in 2011 and passed up on the opportunity, wished I hadn't!!

I love mine, had it for a couple of years and have had trouble free fun motoring.
Mine is totally standard, black, 55k and a 03 plate. Couple of car parking dings. What do you think it's worth?
Thinking of selling in the next couple of months.

I am currently considering one and have seen some bargains for £2000-£3000. Great value IMO.

I think the only EP3s that will go up are JDM championship white ones. They have better spec and are more sought-after now.

UK one was produced in massive numbers, so your probably looking at another 20-30 years before you see mk1 Golf style values.

The EK9, FD2 and Japanese EP3 will command decent money for some time.

FN2s and UK EP3s will start to rise in value once overall numbers start dwindling, of course. They produced more EK9s than they did FN2s or EP3s - mind you there is a higher concentration of these models in the UK.

Now is a great time to buy an EP3. Bargains out there, great all round car, well supported parts wise, easy on the wallet, etc.

I'm currently EK9, but I need to scratch that K20 itch at some point.

In 20 years they could be worth a bit but unlikely to appreciate much before that. Too common.

I think it'll be a long time before they start going up in value again, if ever.

They're hardly desirable, I still see plenty of middle aged women commuting in them.

I'm not saying they're not an excellent car, the sales figures prove that they are, but they aren't going to go up like say a DC2 or EK9 have recently.

Well I reckon you're wrong....time will tell....right now they are at the bottom or near the bottom of the deprecation cycle, but by 2020-2025, I reckon they will be on their way to classic status. Look whats happened to 1980s hot hatches as a guide to this.

You would have to be off your rocker to pay £7k for that. You could get a good DC5/JDM EP3/Facelift premier for the money, crazy!

That's about what I traded mine in for, about ten years ago!

That's an anomalie.
They're notoriously expensive, I rang them about a nice 147 GTA they had last year (also low mileage) and they were asking £13k....

Yep, I sold my 2004 facelift for that money 5 years ago and it had lower miles. That was a 6 year old car at the time, this one is 13 years old!

If they got that money, the depreciation from new has only averaged £600 a year. That is cheap motoring for a reasonable performance car, especially when you consider the repair bill are likely to have been far lower than average as well.
