That looks super clean. Red is the best.

That's lovely.

Does that suggest it's got 37,000km on the clock?! If so, I assume that'd be out of budget for me.

sorted your pic for you.

Resprayed in Tornado red, interesting choice that has paid off, it looks brilliant. Hope you have some good UV proof wax or you end up with tornado pink like my mk2 golf.

I asked the question - around £14k to import apparently. Out of my budget.

At £14k, you're better off with an FD2.

yes

Doesn't look as good as a DC5, but very good fun and ridiculously practical.
(Dog would have to go in back seats though)

Potential developments... it's not blue, though.... More updates tomorrow. Hopefully the fun can really start after that.

... nope, Christmas is cancelled.

This one came up, and I told Adam to push the button if he was happy. I hadn't considered a black one, but I reckon it looks the tits. But it didn't pass his inspector's quality standards (scruffy interior, some paint fade, a bit of rust - how they could call it a 4B condition I don't know) so he's rejected it.

The hunt continues...

Ahhh that's a shame. Quite like the black.

Onwards!

Have you seen this one up for sale http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/h...
No I hadn't. Good spot. It's got the boring seats, but it's cheap. I might give them a call.

Any Honda beards got any experience of the Spoon exhaust that they list? The last thing I drove with a Spoon exhaust was a Civic Jordan, and that sounded like a hundred angry bees trapped in an oil drum.

If you drove a Jordan with a spoon it was probably the N1 too.

I don't like it, you could always take it off and sell it, you'll find a buyer for a Spoon system no worries.

I quite like the black/black. That steering wheel needs sorting though, Royal Steering wheels did mine in black alcantara with red stitching and it looks ace.

You should see what Torque GT could import you. They are well known on the DC5 owners forum and seem to come highly recommended.

That's a fair point, whereas blue ones over here are hens teeth, as previously discussed.
There was one in the marina I work in with a for sale sign in the window a few weeks ago. I'll see if its around at lunch.

I'd be interested to find out - drop me a PM if you find anything.

Regarding TGT - I might do that if Status don't come up with something this week. But I'd rather not have two importers potentially fighting over the same cars... I could risk driving my own price up!

Butter Face - that steering wheel looks the nuts, I'd definitely be interested in doing something like that.

Its not here today, but I'll keep an eye out.

How have you got on with finding the DC5 search?

Do you know where there are more stats on this car? I've been trying to find the 30-70 time for this car.

Not good if I'm honest... I got fed up with waiting (and very fed up with my Fabia hire car) and a very clean FN2 came up dirt cheap so I bought that. Possibly as a stop-gap, possibly instead of the DC5, depends on how I get on with it. It's an early one (May 2007, number 2501 I think?) and absolutely specced out with Nav, Bluetooth, reversing camera, auto-dimming mirror and all the usual GT trimmings. It came with a spare set of Honda 18s and tyres, has had one owner from new, and a full and fastidious Honda service history with all the recall work (third gear mod etc) being done - at £4600 I couldn't say no.

So this means that the rush to find a DC5 is off, and I can just see what the importer turns up. He's still got my deposit (he offered to return it with no hard feelings, but I told him to hang onto it) so he'll buy the next good Blue/Blue he finds and I can have first refusal. Frankly, I'll need to drive one to work out if it's twice the car the FN2 is, since it will be twice the money.

Similar position to me, as much as I like the DC5 I can't determine if there is as much added value compared to a EP3/FN2 with a few upgrades. For what it's worth, the FN2 that you have bought sounds like a good purchase - do all GT spec have LSD?
