Seriously considered an HRV to replace my 57 CRV Auto. What put me off was the cost of an auto, the seemingly underpowered 1.5 to drive it, and the lead time! (It was suggested that I order in October '15 for May '16 delivery. And I would have had to put down a £1k deposit 'cos I wanted an auto!

Decided to take a 3month old CRV ex demo petrol auto for less money and glad I did.

SWMBO didn't like the HRV 'cos she "thought it looked like a Nissan Joke from behind". (Didn't want to correct her to tell her its really a jUke - but there again, she's always right!)

Clearly Honda management are out of touch, their main target market for the Fit/Jazz is first car buyers, funky metro-dwellers, young females etc.
Certainly in some other countries, especially APAC region, it's seen as a young persons car.

I'm trying to help - my missus is still a long way under the average age and she got her first Jazz in 2003. She was somewhat reluctant but when it came to changing it in 2009 for the mk2, she didn't even want to look at anything else, so a pretty easy job for me. Adding 5yrs service and warranty meant I could basically just forget about the car for 5yrs.

I also got one of my daughters one a couple of yrs ago - she'd always been happy driving her Mum's Jazz. Our other daughter wouldn't be seen dead in it though!

There are a couple of other young mum's around us who drive Jazz's too. With a couple of well regarded Honda dealers quite close Jazz was popular here and you could find yourself in little convoys of them sometimes. Honda canning those dealerships has almost completely screwed them locally, I'd say.

My wife was sub 40 (just...) when she got her Jazz, I've mentioned swapping it to her but she won't entertain the idea.

Crikey - I thought you said JIZZ just now, until I re-read it!

She was considerably younger than 40 when she started with that...

Just my tuppence on the HRV - me and mrs test drove one back in Sept when they came out. We'd been waiting for it as we had at the time the old civic and old crv. We hated the new CRV (long story) and as I was probably going to keep the old CRV the HRV seemed a sensible choice as she wanted a high up driving position and we both like the way Hondas are built and drive.

We loved driving it (apart from the electric handbrake!) and the interior was all nice enough. But when you looked at A) what you got for your money, & B) your choice of colour (basically monochrome or red) we decided to look elsewhere. I believe they do a blue now but even the salesman couldn't tell us when we might see one.

She settled on a Jeep renegade with all the options for less than a middle spec HRV and got the colour she wanted (the garish orange!) and only waited a month.

I'd think I'd be happy with one if I was given it as it did get down the road well and the engine was good but as for spending my money we did look elsewhere. At the time it was very comparable to the Rav4 but the Rav4 came with a lot less stuff (needed the near £30k one to get satnav for example).
