Worth it?

Seems like a lot of cash, yes it's only got 35k, it's a facelift and looks very clean, but 12k??

It's a shame the facelift JDM car got the black/red recaros over the pre-facelift all red ones, the black/red is great (I have some) but the all red seem more special?

It is a lot of money, for that price anyone looking for a Type R would surely head towards either an FD2 or a DC5. Apart from those "in the know" it doesn't look any different to a normal EP3. Not sure I would part with that amount for one.

Didn't know about the seats though, always thought the JDM cars always had the full red Recaro seats!

Yeah that is basically a Premier with white paint, and LSD and a bit more power! (Ok, that's pretty simple) but I'd personally buy a Premier, add an LSD and a bit more power and save 5-6k hehe

Or like you said, buy a DC5!

Be interesting to know what kind of person would buy it!

Yep you could easily get any EP3 up to that spec for a lot cheaper - Although it wouldn't be white.

I think the market is very small, as you say interesting to see who would buy it. Surely they aren't old enough or "cult" enough to be a collectors car (yet!).

They do look very nice in white, it's essentially a UK car though as it's built in Swindon, then shipped to Japan and now being sold back for probably 3x what a similar spec uk car would cost!

As has been said you'd be much better off with a facelift DC5 or an FD2 for that amount of money.

See, if I had the cash, I'd buy that. Put it in a garage and keep it looking gorgeous. The Pre-facelift is such a better looking car.

Its a purchase for someone that wants to be different and knows the chances of seeing another are extremely slim. I've never seen a facelift JDM car on the road in the UK - probably because they've not long crept over the 10 year import threshold. So I expect its the rarest JDM Honda you can get here, other than uber rare and exclusive stuff like NSX Type Rs.

You'd think there's a load of profit in there for someone, but there isn't. Probably cost £10k to buy and ship over here from Japan. My 2002 that had 35k miles cost just over £7k and that needed a fair bit of tidying up and is nowhere near as mint as that looks.

Well all this publicity must have helped, as it is now sold!

Whats the 10 year import threshold? Not being rude it's a genuine question as I thought we didn't have any restrictions like the USA with their (20?)25 year rule

If the car is over 10 years old it doesn't need an IVA, anything newer would. Well that is what this page says anyway: http://jpncars.com/en/importing-a-car-from-japan-t...

I'm not sure how easy (or expensive) that is to pass though.
