Hi, i just got my hands on a crusty, worn yet rust free 4th gen civic GL twin carb for only £200.

Im looking to rebuild the tired d14a1 yet it seems impossible to find a kit with new seals, bearings, pistons and rings. anyone know where to find one?

it might seem mad not to just put a b16 in it but I havent passed my test yet and insurance will be horrific as it is. Also new drivers and fast unsafe cars dont mix so id want a halfcage and CRX brakes first.

Not sure that a G series engine will physically fit, as it is longitudinal and inline, but give it a go!

Looks like the d series has the same bore across the range, so with abiit of research on your part you may well be able to evolve something. The in the states is where the most info / parts are available

A half cage will make alarm bells ring and premiums rocket just as much as brakes and engine mods.

Cheers for the link, i think ill just stick a d16 in it and jet out the carbs.
Also i have come accross an insurance company that should be afffordable with mods, a friend has a engine swapped metro with a whole heap of other mods insured for £600 a year. I worry about all the dopey tossers in two tonne 4x4s on thier phone, it wouldnt take allot in that car to get killed so im going to fit a cage anyway, only £250 for a saftey devices one with door bars.
