Civic EP2 electrical gremlin...

Does anybody know of a common electrical gremlin that might knock out the power steering, put the ABS light on, and return the speedo to 0mph? While doing 60.

Then shortly they all return...

A previous failure saw the car taken to a garage who declared the alternator and battery to be ok as I and the recovery guy thought it might be alternator failure. But...seems not if it recovers?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Well. I'm definitely (no matter what the garages say), going to call that the alternator. Just it only fails to generate enough power if it's running "high" speed (or at idle sometimes).
