Looking for a bit of help with these, as I know nothing about them. Looking at purchasing an older one for my wife, 2007/2008 model probably and they seem good value for money, sliding doors would be great for kids and because Jap assuming reliable. Specifically I'm looking for petrol due to low mileage my wife does, this car in particularly has caught my eye and just down the road :-

From my research I have found that suspension bushes are prone to failure and I've checked the MOT history on numerous and they all have advisories/failed on suspension bushes! Apart from that, anything else to be concerned about?

We have one (belongs to OH). We bought it nearly new in 2010 - it was a dealer's ex-demo car. Petrol Furano model.

He hasn't had to replace suspension parts yet, but says he thinks they're on their way out. He's replaced both rear shock absorbers. He thinks they are a bit rust-prone.

Otherwise, overall, it's a very nice car which has served us well as a dog bus rather than people carrier.

Certainly one of the nicest looking people carriers in my opinion.

Strange you should mention the 2010 2.0 petrol Furano model as this is what I bought yesterday. Went to view a 2008 2.0 Petrol Sport Saturday for 4k which had sold minutes before we got there. Then went to view a 2007 1.8 TS2 for £3,400 which was tatty so gave up. However Saturday night I did some ebay browsing and came across a 2010 2.0 petrol Furano for £3,750 which seemed very very cheap (typically fetch 5k). So I rang the chap and had a chat, he explained it had a suspension knock but was generally good condition. I ran an HPI check then arranged to view it.

Upon viewing, it was a good car, clean but with issues. The suspension knock was serious and it'd pull to one side coming on/off power. The wishbones look new so I'm guessing track rod ends or drop links. The engine idle is rough and feels like it'll stall and the heatsheilds hanging off the exhaust beneath the car, rattling. It also has no service history bar one receipt for 4 new tyres and disc/pads all round in January. The oil was still fresh so it'd clearly had a change recently. All electrics worked though, both electric sliding doors are smooth, climate, cruise etc all works with no rips in the leather. Took a punt and bought it home for 3k, expecting to spend maybe 300/400 quid to get it all sorted. Did 40mpg on the motorway home, pulls well although the 6 speed box felt a bit stiff, suspect linkages need greasing.

Booked into a local garage Thursday for full service, mot and fix the suspension and engine idle.

Congratulations on your purchase - we have a 2008 TS2 Auto.

We had the starter motor replaced and found that upon ignition, the car idles at 2k revs, then the revs slowly drop. This never happened with the last starter motor.

The car is an auto and putting it into gear causes a "shunt", so really want to get this sorted. The only solution right now is to sit and wait whilst the revs drop.

Any ideas?

Thanks
