Not quite sure what chassis code the civic 4 door 92 - 95 is (EG i think). Need help in finding out how good they fuel consumption-wise and if they can take up two kiddy seats in the back with another adult. Its either that or a VW Golf MK3. Reliability and cost effectiveness are the main concern here as this car needs to last me a year as a workhorse. Only have £600 to spend but have seen a fair few of these as well as golfs.

ETA: The one i've seen is a 1.6 Esi.

Good car, if you're an OAP!

Seriously, Civics are great cars I had a 3dr for 6 and a bit years, it was great, I regret selling it. I want to buy it back.

Whats the MPG like on these cars? Cant find much about them, the hatchback seems to have much more say on forums and sites. Are they basically the same? eg. engine, performance etc.

civic vti will do 40mpg at a constant speed of 60mph. and 33 at 75mph.
lsi is 5 mpg better roughly. but both could be better or worse now.

vti only has 2 back seats though

For 600 notes you won't go wrong. I had a 4 Dr ESi for about 7 years. Good on fuel (not sure official mpg, but will depend on driving style) and also very quick. You'll surprise quite a few cars at the lights.
