Can be. number of things. One is the roof is cold so materal is stiffer. On the one I had, the overlapping material was folding outwards rather than inwards, easy fix as glued Velcro to in between bit and all was well, even in cold. If old/well-used then it "can" be elastic but I would check the above first.

I've been consistently getting 31/32mpg over a tank every month for the 18 months I've had my S2k.
I'm sure someone local would allow you to try their boot for size.
Good to know 30s mpg is possible. Although I love a good hoon, I drive fairly economically generally so would hope to match about what you're getting.I'm sure someone local would allow you to try their boot for size.
Boot wise I'm fairly sure it'll fit if you can fit a golf bag in, but I'll proabably just take it along when I first go to test one.
Picture of the one I've seen that I WANT so badly!...

That is an 02 car (mk2) with the 04 facelift wheels
Not sure they did a GT in 02? May have had GT kit fitted afterwards along with a none OEM front lip
It's had the rear bumper lower lip painted so likely to have had other paint work
Calipers have been painted, check how well it's been done
Drives seat is in poor shape but not untypical for the mileage
I'd love to see a shot of the engine bay to see what has been tweaked there?

where do you mean when you say 'mechanism'? - the hinge area?
Look in side with the roof upThere is a black metal frame with several pivot points/hinges
They get stiff over time
The workshop manual says lubricate with white lithium grease
I used to stick some news paper behind them and use the spray stuff wiping off the excess then running the roof up and down a few times
Makes a big difference and often just makes a cold stiff roof fold that bit better

ITS MINE! HANDS OFF!! ETA: I found it, the website in the photo
By the time I get funds together I think it'll be gone. But I'll be looking for one just like it.

TBH the pricing seems pretty much in line with all others. Not sure about spec, GT etc - I'm prety new to s2000s, but i did notice the front was a little different. There isn't a shot of the engine unfortunatly. The chances of me getting this exact one are small I think, but I'd like one just like it. Why did everyone buy it in silver when this colour was available! And why did all the light blue ones get the blue interior! Blurgh! That is an 02 car (mk2) with the 04 facelift wheels

Panic over. It was just the cold weather. Still think those 2 elasticated things need replacing though. Theres some American firm that sells a DIY kit for them. And to the poster above worrying about MPG. You do realise you're supposed to fill these things up with delicious expensive Shell Super don't you? And if you're going to enjoy the car you need to be revving it regularly between 6-9k? They're not really a car for those worried about MPG.

It's your money I'd be looking at these two face lift cars (BTW don't get hung up on the hard top they are easy to retrofit)

They only did MCB on the Mk2's for a couple of years
Not all Nurby's have the blue interior some of the later ones had black.

The first one looks exceptionally good value but I really want a light colour for my s2k, the darker ones don't suit the car so IMO.I'd be looking at these two face lift cars (BTW don't get hung up on the hard top they are easy to retrofit)

That light blue (MCB? Nurby?) still has the blue leather - I did manage to find one in the light blue with black/black inside.
I think my choice of colour would be the blue in the picture, then the light metallic blue, then the gun metal grey, which there seems to be loads of so I'd settle with one of those I expect.
I'm not overly fussed about a hard top tbh, colour, miles, price and age are all more important to me.
You will struggle to get a good MCB as they only made them for 2 years
Lighter blue on a facelift is Nurby Blue
Take a look at Moonrock nice colour with a purplish fleck (gun metal?)
IMHO from wnning 4 and modding on s2ki the sweet spot is 04-05 cars after the face lift but before drive by wire
As you say buy on condition

Shame that the MCB is rare. Nurby is lovely too though. Yeah, that's the grey I was on about. I'd take any of those colours though. My budget is probably going to be about £7,000 so I think 04/05 just about comes into budget.Lighter blue on a facelift is Nurby Blue
