Lucky coincidence if plans are changed to make it a black forest drive - I'm there (staying in Simonswald) from Friday evening till Sunday. That means we'll most likely (but not definite) go out for a drive on Saturday and Sunday.

If there are plans for to go to the black forest, I may have some suggestions on what roads. We'll be probably look into driving Schauinsland, Kandel and some roads around Todnau/Todtmoos.

Sounds good.

I'd tried going over the Klausenpass yesterday (Sunday) morning. Nightmare. So many cars (moving chicanes), cyclists, cows, hikers. Think I had a clear road for about 2 minutes at most. Rest of the time I was stuck in traffic at around 20 mph frown

I think this Saturday should be okay for me. I will start a post and ask people to add their names if they intend to go (to see if there is enough participants to make it worthwhile).

We had a decent run up the Gotthard on the way back from Ticino yesterday but the trip back from Altdorf took 1 hour longer than planned.

I'd have thought that the Klausen wouldn't have been the best route in the CS given the bumps / width. I used to get to Linthal at sunrise to get a good run up but have only done one run over (from Altdorf at about 6:30pm) this year. It seems to be plagued with too many bikers in the middle of the day.

It has been a while since I went over the Klausen and I had forgotten how narrow and bumpy the road is. I wouldn't normally have gone so late but strangely my daughter wasn't so keen on a 5:30 start! The youth of today.....

I did the Klausen in a Murcielago SV so I can't see what the fuss is smile

I must also come to the defence of the Klausen!
On the right day it can be a great drive as I experienced earlier this year.....unfortunatly not in a Murci SV....

A sunny Saturday in early Sept I can imagine is a nightmare.

To be honest, these days I shun the weekend and do most of my pass driving weekdays after work.
OK, you can't get as much in in one evening, but at least there's very little traffic :-)

Hi guys

Should we invite this guy next year?

This looks to me like it was filmed in this neck of the wood?

Yes, much of that is the Grimsel (shot of Grimsel Hospiz at 10 seconds).

Are you about in June? On the 15th to be precise.

I'd be interested. I normally do my annual hoon of 3000 miles in 6 days around that time.

From my experience end September is a much better than when we went the last time.
