I can't make it unfortunately, having said that I think my Evoque, or 125cc Yamaha scooter would struggle to keep up (unless Ken's Morgan is of the sidevalve engined pre-war variety) biggrin

I'm tentative at the moment- I think I'm not around on 25th, but we'll have to see. If I can make it, it will be in a B7 RS4 (like John, my 996 is also gone!)

It's all very quiet here!
Less than 2 weeks to go, has anyone worked out a route?
Where should we meet? I'm near Zurich Airport

Ive got the outline of a plan on my head, but I've got one eye on the weather at the moment. I've already cancelled a trip to Stelvio this weekend because the weather is looking awful.

Basic idea is to meet in Koblenz early morning and do a big loop from there. I've never driven in the BF though, so if anyone with more experience has a better start point or has a specific route in mind, I'm all ears.

I'll send you a PM this afternoon with some suggestions but initially don't cross the border as a convoy, might be better to meet somewhere in D....

AFAIK
Route has been reviewed - but not yet confirmed
Weather was looking good - then OK - then acceptable - and now concerning. Accu says 69% chance of rain - with it saying "Shower and Thunderstorm around"

Thoughts?

Given you spoke to me 5 minutes ago about this, I would say yes that's a good summary!

Thank you to JMGS4 for the route, looks good. DK proposed some small alterations. Accuweather has a more optimistic view of the weather than Google. I propose to wait until tomorrow lunch and make a final decision, given how changeable the weather is at the moment.

My preference is for as early a start as possible, to have the roads as quiet as we can, but again weather dependent.

We are moving to Basel next year, so I will keep my eyes open for the 2017 dates.

A friend and I would also be interested in joining. Could someone send me route and schedule? Am I right to assume that the route is so curvy that it would not be enjoyed by SWMBO as co-driver?

I'm still up for it if it's a bit wet.
Did we agree on a meeting point?
I haven't received anything (I know last time there we're emails flying around in the background)

The weather looks like rain all day long on Saturday.

Personally, I would prefer the Exige not to come out in the rain. I propose to postpone until the weather gets better. Only problem is I'm booked up until September.

I've also looked at weather down in the Gotthard/Grimsel triangle and it doesn't look much better.

JMSG has very kindly produced a route, which DodgyKen has tweaked a little. Big thanks to both! If you want it, let me know either on here or by PM and I'll send it on.

If only we were going today!

As much as I like a good run out - and unlike the Exige the Morgan can cope with wet weather, I'd rather have a day out when the roof can come off an I don't get wet.

Come to think, it is a Morgan, it makes very difference to whether the roof is on or off when it rains smile
