Hi. This info might be of interest: the government were asked to provide details of "How many light vehicles are registered in New Zealand, broken down by make and model?" and they have put a list up on their website:

It shows that there are about a hundred TVRs currently registered in NZ (they have not listed how many if there are less than 5 of a type, as entered into the system).

That list just shows what a shambles the NZ registration register is. My TVR S is registered as a Custombuilt although when it was registered when it came into the country it was a TVR. You will find TVRs under Custombuilt, Factory Built, TVE and I am sure there will be other "makes". This list is no use to man nor beast.

For those that are neither man nor beast, I've changed the link so it should work (it does for me using Chrome). The list isn't alphabetical so not user-friendly.

TVR hasn't always been in the set list of makes, so one of the generic descriptions were often used - that was up to the individual entry inspector to choose. The model field is freeform so anything could be typed in, and it often was. I can't see TVE entered anywhere but there are other typos such as Toyota Carolla and many errors such as replica Lotus 7s listed under the Lotus make.
