Like you say in other post you don't really want the light coming on at all, even for a second or so as it obviously suggests an airbag is present.
I was basically thinking of getting to led in dash and removing it or breaking it but am concerned as to whether it will cause any other electrical type issues/problems with the instrument panel.I basically don't want to end up messing anything else up by doing it.
Your idea of leaving it working but covering it up might be a safer way of doing it actually.Did you use black tape or some black sealant or something similar?
Glue and tin foil worked for me. would def not destroy led - just in case it has knock-on effects.I was basically thinking of getting to led in dash and removing it or breaking it but am concerned as to whether it will cause any other electrical type issues/problems with the instrument panel.I basically don't want to end up messing anything else up by doing it.

A glimmer of hope for you guys........
just attended an mot seminar and the issue of airbag warning lamps and abs has been raised,in the context of when a 'modified' car is presented for test.i.e a trackday car,or rally car.the answer was that if a modified for track use car is presented for mot from APRIL,when the SRS warning lamp is tested from,it will be exempt from this part of the inspection.this doesnt mean though that all modified cars are exempt though,in that if you dont genuinely use the vehicle on track, and has all of its airbags/pretensioners hanging out,and the SRS/airbag light on mercilessly,it will fail. The correct method of test will eventually be wether the SRS/airbag lamp is on,indicating a fault,so its not as harsh as originally thought.
So if you do present your roadlegal trackday car for test,it shouldnt fail for having no airbags......watch this space for further news,as im just as affected by this,as i just bought a car for trackdays this year and was just about to rip all of the airbag system out!

No it was in marks tey, essex.yeah, they said the same thing about h.i.d lamps, but its not a fail if they are aftermarket as you only test if the washers operate so if they arent fitted no RfR.nothing to say if they are present or not,as is the same for the sensors for ride height.apparently this is because some'high end market' vehicles have no give in the suspension, they arent fitted as they are pretty pointless.........
If it is of a quality make aftermarket kit, dont see why it should fail-it has to meet the criteria of any other lamp with regard to beam pattern. If its got a clean lens and its fitted correctly then it should be ok.The headlamp washers are fitted for H.I.D lamps by manufacturers because of legislation,as any dirt on the lens can refract the beam pattern.Obviously if you have some bad quality kit then expect a fail-but then saying that a few of these ultra bright bulbs that have been on the market can fail, for some reason they bugger up the beam pattern, and when originals are put back in, its ok again.
