Quality, i guess with an all alloy engine (is that right?) it must help the front turn in well ?

I have only done the full Silverstone track once, my son decided to modify my car using the pit wall, ouch, great track though.

That's proper quick but as others have said, you're not driving to track day regulations. You literally bullied your way past the purple Focus at 4:23. If I'd have witnessed you driving like that, John, I'd have had you kicked out.

Don't be a drama queen it was a blue focus not a purple one Mr Magoo smileit was the GTR that dived up the inside of the Jim's focus making him alter his line he actually said he saw me coming as he was on a slow down lap but he didn't expect the move from the GTR, as you can hear from my car I am on a steady throttle on the outside on the following double apex corner and I only passed Jim when he waved me through. Okay then I might of been on cold tyres and getting a little movement from the car but it was under control and I was hitting all the apex's unlike the GTR and the GT3 winkand when the faster car in a straight line came behind (GTR) I quickly moved over, I didn't consider it overly aggressive just assertive.

I had another great weekend at Silverstone with Goldtrack nice assortment of race and road cars and excellent grown up track manners definitely paying the extra dosh over the budget one's wink

V8 man - kettle and pot comes to mind after watching your video you obviously never went to the briefing biggrin I loved the way you held the faster Evo up for a full 2 laps and pushed the nova out of the way mid corner!!!! Forget anymore mod's get some decent mirrors laugh

Not only were you hitting apexes, you were having a go at hitting everyone else's cars, there is no place for that aggression (assertiveness) on a track day. Your driving standards are disgraceful, and your attitude matches your driving standard.

Not are you only wrong, you are now just posting for effect.

There were a whole load of cars in that video that's were off the power and off the line and obviously (if you were there and driving the car) letting him past.

The blue focus saw him coming and let him buy breaking mid Alex expecting him to come past.

The only objectionable bit of the video is the passenger - did he not know he was being filmed smile

Hi wellslow, thanks for your kind comments wink Sir I hope don't take this the wrong way but you have started to become a little bit hypocritical I only spent a very short time close to the car in front unlike your buddies video nomirrorsv8bloke smilein which the Evo was chewing at his back bumper for a full two laps, you didn't seem to have a problem with that rolleyes I have seen may near doo's and shunts on track because drivers just end up diving down the inside.

I do feel your pain and frustration having spent ten's of thousands of pounds moding a perfectly good vehicle when a MX5 with less than a 1/4 of the power or standard road car starts to loom large in your rear view mirror! Do you Evo guys finally realise you need instruction or in your case retire to the pits with a ten finger racing glove full of excuses biggrin

Thankfully I doubt if we will meet on track as I said I don't do budget days and from what I have seen from the Evo's on track most of you guys by lunch time have retired with the bonnets up and in a cloud of steam or with the lap top plugged into the ECU searching out a few more BHP, at that point I rest my case Me lud judgesmilexmas

Last time I went I was doing 2.32 in a 996 GT3. I like to think there is another 2 seconds in there.
Any other experience in a similar car?

Its ok - we are also not in a garage! They were sold out before we got round to it.
We'll be in a pair of red and yellow 996 GT3s

Fingers crossed for decent weather

Wow. Had a great day.

Saw you a couple of times in the paddock but did not get around to saying hi. That's a massive wing on the back of your car! You could almost take off smile

I found the grip levels a lot lower than my last outing in June. Copse, Maggots, the chicane (vale?), were all a bit slippy.
The midday rain seemed like it would wash out the day...however, the last two hours turned out to be the best.

Quite a bit of traffic though, so difficult to get a clear lap (though RMA rules mean traffic does not slow you down half as much as other overtaking formats).

Looking at the video, fastest lap seemed to be a 2.28...so should be a little more in there come summer next year.
