Just watched the clip. Epic sound was on the edge of my seat the whole lap, brilliant!
Last time on the scales 980kg but probably another 50kg now.
So looking forward to getting back to Silverstone.
Thanks.
435 bhp in circa one tonne! The should shift!

It certainly does, it's phenomenal to watch round Silverstone.

Brakes were not as strong as I would like - not sure what fluid is in the car. Soft pedal/felt like the fluid was boiling over.
Well, from experience, the Porsche fluid is rubbish. Get some Castrol SRF React in it - then you'll know for certain its not the fluid at fault!

Makes sense. Just checked with my guys and they hadn't changed the fluid so quite possibly running std fluid.

2:26.2 in a stock Cayman GT4 on PS Cup 2 tyres with no changes to geo or any additional downforce tweaks (there is some on the rear wing and front dams)

...2:24 should be doable with some geo changes

Wobbling around in 2:26 in my Caterham on a -1 degree day, but with Vbox reporting a potential 2:19 with a clear lap. Car has a lot of power so should dip well below that with a good driver.

Took an E46 M3 to Silverstone last week. Only did a couple of sessions or so, but managed to clock a 2:35. Not sure how that compares for that type of car.

Wow...so sounds like the car should have more in it.

Having said that, how much does your car weigh now? I'm still running stock weight apart from the front seats being Recaro Pole positions which should be lighter than stock.

The E46 M3 should be on the pace of the 996 GT3 with ease...

Really? I would be quite surprised, or do you mean LaSource's M3 vs. a std GT3?

The difficulty is not all cars are the same - ie std spec vs std spec.

My M3 is on a scale of 1 (std) to 10 (fully stripped and caged) is roughly a 6 I guess.
Mitch911's 996 GT3 is setup very similarly to how my red 996 GT3 was and on a similar scale I would say is an 8 (though a 10 for a GT3 is not all that dissimilar to a 1 for the GT3 smile)

For me I am some 5 seconds off my Silverstone pace in the M3 vs the 996 GT3. Mitch911 seems to be motoring at a similar pace to me (if not a touch quicker)

However if I had a totally standard 996 GT3 then yes my part modded M3 is about the same pace smile

Of course, the other determinant is the driver. Someone else could extract more from either car.
I guess like for like the GT3 is quicker, however the GT3 is already fairly track focused and apart from brakes, suspension, and diff, people tend not to do much else to them. Whereas the M3 can on top of the usual stuff be completely stripped, lightened, etc to close the gap a bit more
