Looks good, I was going to buy a cheap one £6-800 and add bits but for the price of yours with the bits it works out about the same. Not sure about classic insurance on a 1997 what do you do?
I had it insured with Flux on a modified car policy. It was more to insure a standard one for some random reason! silly But it was coming out under £500 for 12000 miles a year Me SDP and the Wife SDP+commuting.

(For comparison I went to a standard MK3 and Flux quoted me £900, but heated seats will be worth it in the winter I hope!)

This has attracted a fair amount of interest on ebay:

1980 RENAULT Alpine A310 GP4 Arched Bi-Turbo LHD Racecar Track day car. It's UK road-registered as well. Wasn't this Renault's answer to the Porsche Turbo?

Although I am biased... A set of a harnesses and stickier rubber would make it a proper weapon!

Looks very similar to the Norris Designs Evo that was shortened and turned into a 3 door! Nice car and should be a good drive I'd imagine!
