What you need is a nicely prepped GTV 6 fast road/track day car. Drove out, 22 laps at the 'Ring, at least 8 or 9 7 or 8 lap seesions at Spa, drove home. She din't miss a beat and used just half a litre of oil. Who says old Italian cars are crap!!
Not my first choice from a driving perspective (to each our own - I am one of those idiots that likes the engine in the wrong place), but nonetheless I thought that yours was awesome at Spa (didn't notice it out on track at the 'ring on any of my 17 laps). Respectable pace and you seemed to be having loads of fun riding the back end just at the limit of adhesion. I doff my cap sir. thumbup

[My principle of track days - the winner is the one that has the most fun. It matters not what you drive or how fast, just that it works for you. The perfect track day is thus where nobody can be convinced that they didn't win]

indeed Pouhon is a killer double apex in 4th and is a continual challenge every lap until you nail it.... but Eau Rouge & Blanchimont (exit) in 5th provide the greater rush !!!... it's a circuit with no duff corners & the topographic challenges add to the recipe.. just love it every visit!!!

Spent the whole day instructing [Mon 15th] on there,we racked up around 78laps in total. Over the years it has become more like a second home.LoL

Thanks to Lizard Logistics for bringing my battered Leon Supercup home in several pieces... Warning, if your friend wants to drive your racing car on the Nurburgring, let him go out solo.. 4 nights in a german hospital isn't much fun!

Thanks to DN for a great day, sorry we closed the ring for a little while.. it wasn't me!

The next morning in the hotel Lizard looked seriously depressed as we left for Spa, glad your OK and my car is a single seatersmile

Sorry to hear about the hospital stay. My parents, who were on the path overlooking the bridge, said they felt the heavy impact. I've heard that it's usually the additional driver who is driving when there's an insurance claim.

Yes I just read my post back and can see the confusion, it wasn't Alex that broke it, that was my Norwegian friend Bjorn you saw looking sad!

Alex (Lizardlogistics) brought the car home to me.

It is being re-shelled and will be racing again in the new year.

Well, you did ask for it - here's some of my crap driving from the 'ring, trying to point out some other British cars:
MX-5 and footage of a Soarer for the first lap, nice rear-view of how beautiful the ring is on a foggy autumn morning from about 6.10, Blue RS4? from 11.26, Evo passing at 15.28, 6-series and Z3M around 16 mins

http://youtu.be/PtWKw3pDrE4?hd=1

next vid - A TVR around 3.55, XR2 7.30ish...2nd lap was running out of fuel, so passed by lots of stuff

http://youtu.be/IWOOajallDs?hd=1

next one - Megane around 1.45, Scooby 4.30, Blue/White GT3RS parked up in the valley 5:43, black GTR 7.45, red 968 10.40, 370Z 15.25, GT3RS 23.10, old BMW 21.35, something crashed 22.45,S2000 24:00, M3 26:09,Golf & Integra 27:45, 350Z 29:16,997 29:40

http://youtu.be/fH1am2LWaRM?hd=1

last one at the ring - from 0:40 3-series BMW, Golf, 997, 996.2 GT3 then GT3RS 2:14, BAC Mono 3:02, GTR 4:23, Boxster 5:00,3-series 5:07, jaaaaag 7:40, Megane 9:00

http://youtu.be/w_3so_UAuA4?hd=1

and if that doesn't get you soundly to sleep I'll post up my Spa footage....

- my co-driver was OK at the 'ring - not so lucky at Spa. Slight mishap at Rivage..

Lizard nearly got another customer, but it turned out to be relatively minor & didn't stop us enjoying the day.

Although one of the drivers in your car do stop most other people enjoying the day...............shockingly unpredictable, slow and dangerous

Cheers DC, much appreciated comments. She is an easy car to drive like that, you get such good feedback. I did the tourist day at the 'Ring on Sunday and finsihed off with a few laps on Tuesday evening before driving down to Spa. I guess you were on the day on Monday.

Well that must have been me, as my co-driver is a sprint hero who races a 370hp westfield - I'm so sorry we can't all be ace drivers. Did I not move over fast enough and lose you precious seconds on a "hot" lap?

If you had a problem, and we were a danger to all other traffic - you knew what to do...I don't recall Darren pulling us over, or Martin having any issues when he sat in with me in the afternoon.

If you still have a problem - email me and I'll give you my number.
