Some say......a German motorcar not dissimilar to the one involved was seen acting like a prat as it entered the M3 around the time the event shut down so maybe it's not so much a case if "st happens" after all.......
Well thats bullst, because i drove home no faster that 50mph because of the damage to the car!
More a case of "st stirring"...

Guys,

Ed here from MSE. As most of you will know I rarely ever post on pistonheads as we prefer to not get too involved and instead let you discuss our events instead. However, I felt it best that we do briefly comment regarding Odiham. Firstly we were very sad to have to call things to an early close due to Tom's Porsche (whilst being driven by his younger and equally nice and polite brother) hitting the RAF's traffic lights at the second corner. Tom is clealy a nice chap and I hope everyone on here can see that. Incidents can occasionally happen we all know that and this is despite every possible precuation in terms of track layout and a very comprehensive driver's briefing.

During our 12 seasons of running events an incident like this has never happened. We are very aware that something like this can happen, similar to if a barrier gets destroyed on a circuit or if a track is completely covered in oil. I would like to thank so many of our guests for being so understanding and kind. Your emails of support since the event and warmth during the day when I announced the bad news were amazing and very kind. Those of you that know Natasha and I and our hard working team will realise that we are people who genuinely care and we do try very hard to provide a great service to our guests. We consider ourselves so fortunate to have such a loyal customer base who as I said on the day many of whom I consider to be firm friends.

In terms of the consequences of what happened, we very much hope that events can somehow continue at Odiham. The members and supporters of Odiham Car Club are a wonderful bunch who work hard and simply want to have some fun in their cars and they really do deserve encouragement to try and find a way forward into 2013. Obviously when we have news we will let everyone know by email.

Hoping to see you all again soon during a happier day.

Kind regards

Ed Moore
