I know no one would do such a thing but if one were to time ones self round Cadwell what would be deemed respectable?

Yes, do I need to appologise?

We were a group of 4, the blue Cayman s, the Lotus that crashed, and a Silver E46M3.

Lotus was not being driven by the owner at the time and is looking doubtful for Spa at the end of the month:-(

Lotus needs some serious TLC just needs striping down so we can see how much TLC is needed.

Mate timed me over a few laps between 1min 43 and 1min 45 just using his watch, there is more time to be saved though, awsome track it was my first time there but will be back.

Was that the track preped E36?

Yes..... mine was the one with a blue cage and no decals.

I was around 1.48/49 in my 1800 Civic a couple of years back - putting that in context a mate of mine had a fastest lap of 1.41 in a 1600 Civic race car when he was racing there a couple of years ago.

Going into coppice / charlies seems to be the part of the circuit where people lose the most time - it's a lot quicker than it looks.

I'm going back in my 944 later this month - will be interesting to see how quick that is

1.45 in e36 2 up, my 1st trackday in a new car.

Bit gay really the race mx5s with circa 120bhp & on road rubber are near that- 1.47 when I checked, pos quicker now.

So running solo & more used to it plus is now bit better set up I'd hope I could knock a second or 2 off that.

For road cars sub 1.40 is pretty respectable it seems-

I have been there many times now, it is my closest track, and on standard road tyres in an e36 328 I am around 1:48 to 1:50 with a passenger timing.

You are absolutely right about Coppice! I am basically entering it without braking at around 100 - 105 & then just let the hill slow me down enough for Charlies 1, a little dab to move the balance forward & then on the gas again by the time I am turning in towards Charlies 2 apex. If you time this sequence right, the exit onto the back straight is a good overtaking point.

My other favourite parts of the track are:

The Gooseneck, which can also be a lot faster than you think. The exit of which used to be a recognised overtaking point, but most organisers no longer allow this.

Barn & Hall bends, which is great fun!

Standard everyday road tyres on standard car (T350t) I'm happy with 1.50.

I took my ek9 round in 1:51 with just breathing mods and remap.

Pretty good for pretty much a standard hatchback.
