Blimey that's a bit rapid!

My classic live-axle caterham with 100bhp and A539s was doing about 1:46-1:47. Vid link to one of the races on my profile.

My supersport that i'm taking to Cadwell next week should be lapping in the 1:36-1:38 range. I won't be timing, but it should feel quick enough!

Slightly old topic but still very interesting

Here's a few from my group of friends:

Stripped out Clio 172 with cup suspension, Toyo T1R tyres, Ferodo DS2500 pads, braided lines. Dyno'd at 156bhp (has engine issues)
2 mins 5 secs

Mk4 Golf V6 4-motion, R32 brakes, semi slicks
1 min 59 secs

Porsche 911 Carrera 2 manual, H&R coilovers, H&R adjustable ARBs, slight misfire
1 min 55 secs

Honda Civic Type-R EP3, stripped out, limited slip diff, semi slicks, Stoptech BBK, mild engine mods @ 220bhp
1 min 48 secs

1.45 in e36 2 up, my 1st trackday in a new car.

Bit gay really the race mx5s with circa 120bhp & on road rubber are near that- 1.47 when I checked, pos quicker now.

So running solo & more used to it plus is now bit better set up I'd hope I could knock a second or 2 off that.

For road cars sub 1.40 is pretty respectable it seems-

This reads as thought its a standard 328i or something similar, can you elaborate on the car? As you've matched Mark Higgin' time in an RS3 on your first go in an unfamiliar car hehe

E36 3.0 M3 standard engine, a quick squizz on the net seems like a fast car in the BMW Khumo champs in '11 would have been a 1.36, the lap record that I could find for an e36 in '12 is 1.32, a 1.40- 1.41 seems to be respectable but a 1.45 would still have seen a 4th place qualy on that Khumo day.

I managed a few 1:50s in a 130bhp mildy fettled Honda CRX on Federal RSRs last summer. Nothing amazing, but the videos show where time can be found.

My best is 1:50.2 in an BMW 320i (E30) with around 130bhp and about 1130kg on R888's

In the sprint champ in my cerb we were doing 78 seconds standing start on the pit lane slip road to the bottom of the mountain. Not sure what that is in lap time though. I did have a huge off when the brakes overheated though!

Cadwell probably had the longest standing track record of any UK active circuit . The last time F3 ventured there was 1982 when Quique Mansilla did something like a 1.21 in a (about 160bhp ) Ralt. This stood for donkeys' years (probably 20) until bettered by a Jedi .

Is your user name in reference to what is probably my favourite corner on a UK circuit?

Yup- cos it makes me feel like a hero every time I get round it; and it is also a superb place to watch racing - as is everywhere on Cadwell of course- but at coppice you can see 4 separate overtaking spots

When I was there in the summer I was doing around 1:46/1:47 in my Z4M Coupe. When I looked back at the footage after the event I could see I could carry more speed through Coppice (I was braking at the end of the straight), and felt I could do a bit better through Chris Curves.

Video here: http://vimeo.com/94646464

Watching it makes me realise I need to go back!

Nice tidy lap.

As you say you have a lot more space you can use round Coppice, a great corner.
