I do have a double garage and a more than double drive ......... and feel the trailer would be a bit vunerable to the s.
So why don't you store the trailer with the car on top *in* the garage?

Mine was like that for a couple of years no problems.
But lived in a good area, but it was on 'view' to any one passing.
If really worried get a cover for it, park the trailer hitch into the wall, car on top.
You can't move it by hand with the car on. Ramps in the garage. Wheel clamp, hitch lock and perhaps bolted to the ground / wall.
The only problem I had was it was a single drive, so pain to get the other out the garage.
And stick a 318 badge on it... Much less nickable

Not many garages are 2.3m wide (std door is c2.1m) and 23ft long (usually 16-20ft)

My B.J. trailer has a folding tow pole so there's no length problem
in a standard garage.
As it happens length is not my problem (of my garage biggrin) and so I
don't need that feature and I'm thinking of getting a tilt bed trailer instead.

length is my problem I think, car on it's own only just fits with about 500cm left.

A lifting or detachable hitch/A frame would be ideal. I even thought I could knock a bit of the wall out at the end of the garage and let the hitch pass through a bit...

I was looking at one near Donington Park the other day that is very secure:

Standard plots (maximum 23ft) are:
£360-00 / 12 months
£186-00 / 6 months
£96-00 / 3 months
£5-00 keycard deposit.

I do have a double garage and a more than double drive but I'm just a bit OCD with keeping the place looking neat and feel the trailer would be a bit vunerable to the s.
Does that place have a name or website ? might need to store a van somewhere as i plan on getting a van to put the caterham in the back of.

I was thinking about this the other day, whether there were lwb sprinter or transit conversions to hold Caterhams or Westfields. Didn't see any at autosport, not sure ive ever seen any.... how hard can it be?

A couple of years ago I saw a Sainsburys home delivery van that had been converted to carry a Caterham or a Westfield. I didn't buy it, and regretted it for a good long time afterwards.

Easily! A mate used to use a LWB High-top Sprinter (original shape) to transport 2cvs - inside. No mods at all, apart from some ramps up-and-over the wheelarches. You could fit a pair of Sevens in. Three, probably, with some ingenuity.

The issue with merc sprinters is that the doors are a couple of inches too narrow to get a caterham in without first removing the rear wings. Not the end of the world with a little electric screwdriver, but a bit of a pain

Fiat ducato/citroen relay/peugeot boxers have the widest doors of a standard van and can take a caterham without removing the rear wings....just. You have to take the door rubber off and possibly flare in the edges slightly.

Very neat way of doing it though. Means you can do sight-seeing on the way to/from trackdays without worrying about the car being on show.

You can even hook up a caravan and have the proper pie-key look wink

A Caterham is wider than a 2cv? Wow.

<quick google>
Wow. 95mm wider. And that takes it over 1500mm, which is probably the key figure.

i had a similar issue, I had a trailer stored at a friend farm. It was taking 4x as long to get the trailer, put the car on that drive to the circuit.

I just made the car road legal, with ALL mods (inc full cage), and fz201's and paint change etc.. it is £200 [2k road miles] a year to insure + tax.

to save people bothering to check..as i know they will..
