Having grown up a few miles away from Blyton before leaving the area, I can remember when there was a speed trap in Blyton virtually once a week.

It might also be worth getting Richard to advise visitors on alternative routes out of Blyton - specifically I'm thinking Station Road/Pilham Road and Kirton Road - although they might lead to more exuberant driving...
Station road is the best route out for A1 southbound, however northbound the only realistic option is through the village. Still, this isn't about routes: its ultimately about respect!

Personally I find that after a tiring track day and my car having a good work over, the absolutely last thing I want to do is give it the beans on the way home.

Me too, I am shattered by then & all adrenaline'd out! In fact glad of the rest for a leisurely drive home.

I was born and bred in Gainsborough, only left in 08, and come back often.

I wish Blyon park was around back then, I have been around it as a passenger and it's a very good little circuit!

I used to own a gti-r and the nearest shell station was Shorpe....could never make it home without stopping for a caramel and butterscotch ice cream!

Yep, me too. That's one of the reasons I trailer the track car (Westfield). After a hot, tiring, windswept, noisy day I want to waft home in air-conditioned, leather clad opulence. (Well, it's only a Disco 3, but you get the idea.)

Me three, although being in an estate with a trailer may be a reason.

Edit to say: I've not actually tracked at Blyton yet but given its 15 miles away, I should do!

Freudian slip or is that Blyton's nickname?

(You should do - it's a great place!)

I'm not sure, my predictive text doesn't even come up with that as an option so I must have misspelled it badly!
