I have some off the wheels. I can confirm they are very heavy compared to any other tyre I have carried and also very stiff.
And a tape measure across the tread says.......? Twould be handy to know for reference how close they are to the width stated on the side wall. Many road Tyres are actually narrower than stated, Toyo R888 track tyres are at least the stated width if not wider. I have seen 15mm difference between different sets of supposedly the same width Tyres.

I have a pair of these in the garage which I'm thinking of trying now. My question is will it say if they are 120 or 180 on the sidewall?
On the outer sidewall they'll be labelled "TW120" or "TW180".Trying mine out at Curborough next Friday, looking forward to it.

For future reference if photos aren't clear enough to read that, the 180s are called Street and the 120s Track.
They're slightly wider than nominal, but only a bit. My 205s are about 213mm across. Agree that they're very heavy and enormously stiff.

Hey guys, I'm looking into purchasing a set of these for track dedicated tires. The 120TW is out of stock, I've called around several tire shops and they've all confirmed that there likely won't be any more stock until next year. They do have the 180TW however. From reading Beedub's review on his z4, the 180 seems to be pretty darn good as well! I'll probably put an order for these if I can't find anyone that has any 120TW in stock.
BTW, anyone comment on how these (180TW) would compare to Hankook RS3 tires on the track?

Next year - wtf - what size were you after?
235/40/17. I called around many shops around the Toronto (Canada) area, no luck. I ended up ordering a set of the 180TW, so we'll see how these run on the track on my 135i. I'm running all stock except for coilovers and camber plates. I'm running -2.0 camber up front, so hoping I don't have to go any more negative with these tires as it is my daily driver. Tires should come in a few days, I'll be hitting up a local track in a few weeks and will post updates here!l2iceman said:

I see lots of ads on ebay for these here - UK - so assume they're in stock. I finally fitted my pair of 180 on the back of my car and some standard road tyres up front. I'm using 225 40 18 all round. I was more interested in trying the wheels for fit as they're new to me. This is my beast

Quick question; Would I be OK to run 2 of these up front on an E36 M3 with some not so good tyres on the back, just for a little fun? I'm assuming everything will be fine as the front will have the grip.
Currently have a pair on the back of mine and not on the front. So yes if you're a grown up and don't work for the nanny state then this is fine.On the strength of all the positive reviews on here I have just ordered a set for my Alfa ahead of the Croft Sprint next weekend. I have always used R888's up until now and thought I would take a punt on these as I need to do some work to the brakes as well and I have to save something somewhere!
Will report back after but obviously if I don't win its definitely the tyres fault and not mine .......
For the record it runs c370bhp and probably weighs about 1250kg, (based on 1350kg road weight and the lack of seats, lightweight battery, interior grubbins and the like)

Be careful though, that's exactly how I wrote off my e46 M3 on track, along with a lack of talent probably too. Good front tyres with awful rears resulted in a major oversteer moment on a 90mph corner. With a powerful rwd car it would be safer imo to have poorer tyres on the front as you'll more likely just push on rather than anything more sinister. To be honest now for the sake of the price of a couple of tyres I make sure they are all in fairly similar condition.
Last week the ns2rs came off the car in favour of some Eagle F1s since "Fat S4" is being retired from track day duties.
However, she's been replaced with Tin Can Cooper, a R53 Mini. She's got some RSRs on her and it'll be her first outing this Wednesday. Fairly sure I'll go back to Nankang as soon as this set wear out.
So my lamenting aside I have been very impressed with the NS2R. They were the 120 compound and latest 3 trackdays and approx 11,000 road miles. Not bad at all!
