I've done the whole day at Palmer but not the evening. Great fun! Which cars will you get to drive?

I'm doing their 'Lads' day with some friends on Saturday 30th August as a birthday present to myself. This is their full on day but on a Saturday. It should be epic biggrin

the best thing about the Palmer days are the instructors. They try to get you driving as fast as they think you can, really encouraging and not too bothered if you make a mistake. Concentrate in the LMP car as the single seater is basically the same. I remembered the lines but not the gears so wasn't as fast as I could have been.

I've done the 911/Clio Cup/M3/Caterham one.

Great fun and really well organised.

I agree about the instructors too "you took the piss with the kerbs a bit but I didn't stop you because it was good fun" (M3) and "I'm going to shut up now and let you enjoy yourself" (Caterham).

Thanks for posting these up and nice driving Tickious, I see what you guys mean about the instructors, they seem to enjoy the occasion as much as the driver. That formula Jag single seater car is certainly a lively beast. have a good evening on the 7th. Im looking forward to my day on 30th.

I did the evening programme in 2012, my god did I enjoy it. It was the first time I'd ever driven on track, and led to many trackdays and eventually going racing.

Ariel Atom - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSOgvSeKCa4&li...

JP1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUQA5Sr3JxI&li...

Formula Jaguar - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnEbO3QaddQ&li...

I really struggled with the JP1 for some reason, hoping I perform a bit better in it tomorrow.

Did this yesterday. Instructors and whole set up was fantastic.

First time on a track for me...and I realised pretty quickly that I was never destined to be a racing driver.

I did the full day earlier this month, was amazing first time on track for me apart from karting etc.

Instructors really do push you as far as they/you are willing to go, day was made better by taking away trophies smile

Slightly late response but our dads and lads day on the 30th Aug was epic. The day was so well organised both the driving and food were top notch as it's a rollout of the corporate day. My son managed to get a trophy for the Atom and I came 4th. The special cars IMO were the single seater formula Jag and the Palmer Jag LP-LM, found the M3 a bit boring after the these, sorry, maybe it's too good but there were a few complaints about the traction control being partly switched on wink. The Atom needed wrestling to the ground but after a few spins I got the hang of it and put in an overall 4th position out of 60 participants. I also found that some instructors were more inspirational than others and guess which ones I did better with tongue out . I was cream crackered by lunch time it's full on. I would love to do it all again though, bloody brilliant.
