I've been there a number of times, went to the last few events. I think its a fun track, normally go with a few mates and have had some hilarious days there. Doesn't seem as "serious" (NOT in terms of safety) as a "proper" track (Brands/Snett etc), it's more laid back. There is also plenty of run off and they have recently cut a lot of the shrubs/bushes back so its even more open. Its also cheap!

Downsides, there are very limited facilities (two portaloos and a burger van), no garages/cover so you are completely exposed to the elements (a lot of people take gazeebos etc), and the surface can be hard on tires (it changes from concrete to tarmac and in parts there are a lot of loose stones which can fly up, best not follow too close to cars in front of you on the long straight!). Also, the nearest petrol garage selling super unleaded is about 10/15mins away (Shell garage).

For the money, I think its good value and a laugh, but its not in the same league (quality wise) as a "proper" track, but then you get what you pay for smile

As above - fun but watch for stone chips, quality of surface is shocking and destroys tyres very quickly compared to normal Tarmac .. I've had two cracked screens from going there and countless stonechips frown

Have fun but try to keep your distance from other cars..

thanks for the feedback & heads up re facilities !

it's been a while since I've done a track day, and even longer since driving an airfield.

Going to give the new car a chance to stretch it's legs a bit (Panamera Turbo)
will be hanging back from other cars given the shrapnel.... smile

That looks great fun but I see what everybody means about the track surface.
It looks like you are hooning around some old farm yard

Had a great day
the weather was 'interesting'...
to be fair we were lucky
drizzle in the morning , with a drying line,
totally pissed it down during the lunch hour
started damp in the afternoon then brightened up and was dry

The whole day was very relaxed - Javelin did a great job - and the best ever burger van topped it off.
The circuit that was challenging, and would probably have suited the more nimble agile cars - god knows what was under the bonnet of the peugeot 106 but I've never seen one move that quick !

The change in surfaces made it interesting... going from a pretty grippy side road onto a pretty slippy runway trying to get the power down proved fun - lots of hand twirling to keep things tidy !

Biggest problem that occurred during the day was the large plastic corner markers were starting to shift around in the strengthening wind. At one point I was heading for an apex, when said apex moved by about 10 foot - in a tightening direction - again a little car correction was needed.

The overall track conditions were great - I've been on race circuits with more debris.
No stone chips, and no damage - just one tank of fuel
All in - a great day with some very nice people
Another one to add to the 'must do again' list
