I'm now coming - will be in the banana 458. Sorry no space as I am already sharing a garage...
We were next to you last time out (you had ecu issue), but we didn't say hello. Will make the effort this time! Andrew

Morning all - great day at Silverstone yesterday if a little wet and slippery... Was a little daunted by all the GTRs on arrival and thought I would spend most of the day being bate!! Looking forward to some dry warm days next year now :-)

Little video here: http://youtu.be/MOavhoGBkws

I couldn't exactly say it was the best day I've had at Silverstone. Loads of red flags and an oil spill put pay to quality track time. We had to wait an hour for a late comers briefing, even though Steve was there chatting away - very frustrating.

I'd never driven the "new" GP circuit before and enjoyed learning a new track layout. My girlfriend had plenty of time out there driving in her least favourite conditions - the GT3 doesn't take prisoners in the wet and cold - those tyres give little to no grip!

Loads of GTRs out there but no trouble from any of them at all whilst I was out there. They all got out of the way nicely biggrin

Had fun with the gold GTR for a good period of time and had a chat with it's enthusiastic owner.

Due to our lateness and the stoppages, I didn't really have time to say hello Duncan - so apologies for that.

An enjoyable day and surprisingly slippy!

Some nice machinery on track, particularly the yellow 458 which looked stunning.

Really sorry to hear of the evo problems. Hope you get it sorted without too much cost.

The Ferrari was superbly quick as was a mini and Clio. What tyres was the Ferrari running?

Hehe, good times, the Clio's were the only thing requiring any real effort to catch but presume you were running wets too judging by the amount of grip you had. Surprising really how slow the GTRs were...!!

Had one small excursion myself, about 5:20 in http://youtu.be/MOavhoGBkws

As far as I know all the GTR's were on road tyres. Some of those GTR guys have done 2:19's on R888's in the dry, that's far from slow in my booksmile

All 3 Clios were running on wets but the 2 197 Clios had dry set ups running way to much camber for the conditions was good fun tho sliding at close to 100mph.

Only checking we had some GTR fans in the room! Yes the difference between wets and road tyres is huge smile

It was a shame we were never on track at the same time Duncan. From previous experience, the GT3 can keep up with the challenge cars but the wet weather doesn't help the amazingly crap Dunlop sport maxx race, which seem to be the hardest compound of any tyre known to man!

I was hoping to see the 'cooking a kebab' GTR there but sadly he wasn't !!!

There is a vid on youtube of a skyline which was at Silverstone on sunday, he was drifting every corner, looked like he was having some great fun!

The kebab vid is simply the most popular track day vid ever!

Just maybe not for the intended reasons of the driver.

The "friend" of the driver made some interesting responses on the GTROC about him being 20st of muscle and having fought the Taliban in Afghanistan, and that anyone wishing to give him some hints would be more than welcome to, to his face.
If they thought they were 'ard enuff! wink

So which Skyline vid is it that you speak? smile
