I haven't done Oulton Park yet, or Anglesey... but my favourite so far:

Thruxton - amazing flow in the high speed corners.

Cadwell - Love the elevation changes and variety of corners.

Castle Combe - Ties with Silverstone GP for me.

At last Blyton got a mention! Awesome track in my opinion.

My other two would be:

Castle Combe - as I only live half an hour away.

Landow - as it's short, which means you can get loads of laps in!

As this thread seems to have run its course, a rough count up of the straw pole shows these to be the UK's top ten track day circuits:

1. Oulton Park 25 mentions
2. Cadwell Park 19
3. Donington Park 18
4. Brands Hatch 14
5. Silverstone 9
6. Snetterton 8
7. Anglesey 8
8. Thruxton 5
9. Castle Combe 4
10. Goodwood/Blyton 2

I've not visited Oulton Park, so that has to be on my list for 2015. Those punching above their weight appear to be Anglesey (given how remote it is) and Thruxton (given how few track days they run). I'm surprised the classic curves at Silverstone don't attract more love but I guess elevation change is a real plus for any circuit.

Interesting thread, as it's given me some inspiration of what new tracks I should try out.

For me though...

Oulton,
Donny,
Silverstone.

My local is Combe.

I like

Castle Combe - mixture of chicanes and ballsy fast stuff heading for Quarry.
Brands - the most beautiful track in the UK, IMO. Easy to learn, hard to master (I haven't!)
Silverstone GP. The most atmospheric.

I drove the old Anglesey circuit. It was OK. I have heard nothing but good things about the new one. My dear departed folks lived on Anglesey but now, it's a bloody long way...

Oulton Park

I do have a soft spot for Snetterton 300, the section between the back straight and pit straight is fun and technical.

you didnt ought to lump brands GP and indy iin toether they are two totally different circuits one, is a short loop with a sngle great corner, the other as a fabulously twisty, very ballsy circuit that takes a lot of learning and confidence to push 100% on.

Donington National.
Silverstone GP (my local)
Brands Hatch GP

I suspect that Cadwell would be up there if I'd driven it and
Oulton is excellent but I've only driven it once (too far away).

These threads though tend to just reflect which tracks people have driven. Very few people do Thruxton or Goodwood, I think if more did they would rank higher, a good friend of mine raced all over Europe for 20 years his favourite track anywhere is Thruxton.

i had the pleasure to race there a couple of years ago and it is indeed mega.

fwiw ...

1. cadwell
2. anglesey
3. brands gp
(thruxton would have been top 5)

i guess it might also depend what you are driving? i spent 5 years racing a caterham but i guess more powerful car drivers might prefer more open tracks like snet/silverstone gp?

si

p.s. rockingham didn't do very well ....
