I've only done a few laps one morning in my 328 & it was on 15 inch wheels & old 200k miles worn bushes etc so not setting the world alight with times I did an 8.20 in it, my pal can do 8.06 in his. I'm a long way off real pace anyway, I can do a few sub 8s like 7.57 in my m3 tho it is only 45bhp up on the 328 its a better prepped car, but tbh that is still pretty slow, a good time is 7.30 odd, but I do see more spanked cars there than most & don't have the plums or talent to go really banzai.
PS not sure if I've posted this prev, but is a vid shot mainly from my M3 of Dales 328 when he did an 8.12, the article is a bit wrong, it wasn't a race I was to hold station behind & film ( hear my short shifting) the 2nd lap however yip I scooted off, was set to be a quick one track was practically deserted but I got really badly bulked up Kesselchen & it cost a lot, ah well.

I've seen all of Dale's videos on You tube including the one with the "lizard" M3, I did wonder at the time if there is any connection, but didn't want to speculate. Tell Dale to get his differential fixed next time you speak to him
Fair enough on the times, that now gives some perspective to your previous statements.
Whilst there is only 45Bhp difference in the two cars featured, my mate and I were wondering where the time was going to come from on Lap two when you lead the lap from Dale's perspective, given that you had the HP advantage as well as the tyre advantage as it looked like the M3 was on slicks for that session. Dale did good to get the best out of his setup, but it was a very long shot to keep up with the grip differential.
Yeh it was a bugger I got bulked, was on target to be my quickest 2 up lap, you can see I was a long way ahead until the blind french 996 turbo driver, Dale caught up a lot then & I didn't get to stretch away too much after that, as the main advantage with the extra power I had is up Keselchen, I do have a bit of advantage down to sx too, but I don't have the plums to take it too quickly & he catches me up v quickly, just as at tiergarten, which is dead scary at 150mph.
That silver car wasn't particually quick, Dale pedaled it v quickly naturally, but it wasn't the fastest example of a 328, it's long dead now tho, by chance- as I didn't buy direct off Dale, I've got the Weichers cage & the seats & the old H&R suspension set up for another project & my pal has the old dif.
Here's another one, me in M3, on board with Whoosher in his lads 328, its an interesting lap, I do lift a lot up Kesselchen, so I don't just clear off as we wanted a chase lap on vid, but I lift a tad too much as he catches me right up & is flashing me to get a move on! as I frantically try & get my speed back up before he punts me, ha, he's a lot faster than me out of foxhole into AF & has a couple of faster bits than me too, although I'm an experienced 'ringer, with a few hundred laps experience, but I don't have his 1300 laps experience

@ 1.30 is something to point out tho, my car & that 328 are both dark colours, we both had headlights on, but I chatted later to the fella in the rental we overtook there, he spotted me in his mirrors hence the pulling over, he hadn't spotted Whoosher tucked behind me tho, could have been nasty at 100mph.

It definitely looks like you guys know the track well, but 1300 laps? That's allot of expendable income lol.
Shame Dale's car is gone, presumably he migrated to something newer/faster? I'm curious what happened to the R1 suspension and that rear wing he had on the car? I would like to know where he got that Wing from if possible, as we would like to acquire the same part further down the line as our car is developed.
