Does anyone have experience of doing a trackday at Tockwith Motor Sports in the last few years?

I'm relatively local and want to see if it's a potentially good site to do a few shakedown sessions ahead of my summer trip to Europe including a trackday at Spa.

I popped along in the summer to look at their karting track and set-up and while I was there I spoke to Emma about the track which she said is used approximately every month. Has anyone got any experience of the track and set up, and would you recommend it?

If its the circuit thats just at the entrance then its been laid about 6 year now. Don't think it does much in the way of actual "trackdays" and is very short. Also is a very uneven (undulating) surface in a few places - which I guess is more critical depending on your car's performance, size and weight ! I would also suggest Blyton Park which has a bit of everything and regular trackdays that midweek (at this time of year) will be quiet. Hope this helps.

It does,

My car is a VX220 so small and light. A couple of drivers from VX220.org were at Blyton Park yesterday and agree that it's a good circuit as it has a mix of everything... I may give that a go too based on their feedback and your post ScorpKing.

Blyton would be a good option or Elvington? As said, Tockwith is probably OK for a rally car shakedown.

Having been to all I would vote for Blyton.

Tockwith is more of a large karting track, Elvington is RIDICULOUSLY ABRASIVE ON TYRES, Blyton is REALLY good fun for a starter track.

Agreed, just a lot further from Tockwith. The B1228 is a good route down towards the Humber bridge also wink

You WILL love it, personal advice - book a tuition session a few hours into the day, so that you find your way around, then get comfortable & then learn how to do it properly.

Yeah, that's a smart idea Andy. I'll definitely do that so I can learn the track and, as a result enjoy the day a little more smile
