I only invited my parents to join me at DN12 two weeks before, not expecting them to be able to make it. But I was so wrong, they immediately booked crossings and motels. We passed them on the E42 on the way to Adenau.

It's my parents 4th trip to the Ring, each time for DN events starting with DN5, and this was to celebrate my mum's 79th. My good friend Mark took both my mum and my dad out for PAX laps, as did I, and they loved it.

When I leave with my car intact the stakes have been so much higher it barely warrants thinking about.

Good effort ! I hope when I`m in my late 70`s I`m still willing and able to get passenger laps at events like this !

Did you get the overheating issue sorted ? Well, I think it was something to do with overheating wasn`t it ?


Oh, and I suggest you post the unmodified photo before Jochen sees that one ! He, gets very annoyed if people crop the photo to remove the watermark and logo`s. It`s why we get them for free

Thanks - Replaced with a photo from a previous year, as it shows my mum's grin far more clearly.

Well, the Golf came through Cadwell unscathed

Now I just need to give it a once-over, check nothing is amiss, sort the alignment out and it will be ready, in plenty of time for DN13
