Lots of Hotels in the area and Booking.com is great to help you find them.
Closest to the circuit ( 5 minute walk ) is Hotel De La Source http://www.hotel-de-la-source.com/en/hotel/present...
good parking and good food.
The other popular hotel is the Radison blu in the town of Spa itself about 15b minutes away.

Quite a few of us staying at Hotel de La Source the night before.

Glad I'm not the only Spa virgin.

I'm also looking at going to the Nurburgring on a taxi run. Does anyone have any tips on that?
Do you mean you are going to get a taxi to the ring, or you want to book a Taxilap of the ring??
The ring is only about 70odd miles away from Spa. Booking the official Ringtaxi can be a bit hit and miss. There is an office for Ringtaxi in the main carpark, you can get taxilaps in M5's or Astons. Or there are various local rental companies that will offer taxi laps in all and various cars rangeing from swifts to GTR's and GT3's. If you need links ask.

The idea was to drive down to the ring and either do a lap in my car if it's still up to more abuse after Spa or to take a ride in a ringtaxi or even do both. I'm not sure yet but being only 70 miles away I figured it will be a good experience. I would like to do it in a full track car like the Aston. I'm not convinced on the road cars like the M5.

Is it better to book this before hand or can I just get there and decide what I want to do? Any links will be really helpful, thanks.

The Aston i think is about 299 for one lap. Ringtaxi m5 is about 260 but you can get 3 people in.
Rental companies like RSR and R$R do taxi laps but i guess you are looking at about 450/500 for a proper blast in a GTR or GT3.
A visit is well worth it. Even just to observe and see what all the fuss is about. If you take your own car out, beware of your insurance liabilities, but if you do go for a trundle, keep it at that as it can catch out even hardened trackdayers.

This what it looks like. This was the video from my mates PAX lap rather than mine.

Here's a frame grab for doogalman, following on from our discussion about riding kerbs. I am being passed at this point, I had been cruising waiting for Andy and Mark to pass, my subsequent attempts to follow them were fruitless!

Car is packed & ready, insurance via Moris £168, heading off this afternoon to get the big boat from Hull this eve. Steady drive tomorrow, weather forecast great, so will fit the AD08's & walk the track & try meet some of the Goldtrack folks & others tomorrow afternoon. Really looking forward to this now. I'll be mostly wearing PH shirts, black Arai, Grey 911 Turbo & of course I look like a powerfully built company Director wink

We have to leave mid afternoon to catch the overnight ferry back so wont be there Thursday. Forecast looks decidedly none Noble friendly for Thursday at the moment. Stay safe & have fun.

It was magic. Saw 27C displayed in the car.

Managed to do 2m 58's on my first day at Spa, happy with that, even though no-one was using any timing equipment at all!

Had great fun playing with the 15 plate UK Speciale, my beetle was quicker down the straight, but couldnt live with his braking/turn in, very impressive machine. Also had fun chasing down the white 997 GT2, the blue 997 GT3 too.

Highly recommend anyone who is thinking about Spa to go. I guess we were spectacularly lucky with the weather & I dont think there were any major incidents. There was a red flag just before lunch though. Anyone know what happened?

Was gutted the Backdraft Motorsport GT3 Viper cravked its diff casing & prevented me from getting some passenger laps.

That's very good going for a first visit.

I was having fun dicing with a friend in his rented 991 GT3. Looking at the videos my fastest in the 996 was a 2.53:01...just needed a few hundredths for a 2.52 time.

Ah, I was chatting to you about your damper change after your ring trip. Henrik caught me out in the RAR car as I was expecting to see his 964! It was a pleasure to meet you. Not sure it would be easy to drop another 6 seconds off my laptime, but the problem was getting a clear lap in, but I was definitely improving on a number of the really challenging corners.

Yes, I remember now.
Henrik was catching many people out and trying to chase the cup cars smile
Careful with Spa though...it can bite.

VERY HARD.!
LeRaddilion -Pouhon and Blanchimont are/can be very fast sections once you know the circuit but get any of them wrong you could be in big trouble.
