MazdaOnTrack are still running them. They have one at Blyton on Sept 19th
I would love this but a 400 mile round trip!

I did Curborough yesterday, 300 mile round trip, that was bad enough!
I did Croft last week, that was a ~500 mile round trip. Go up the night before smile
I did that at Curborough, towed the TVR on a trailer with my motorhome.

That works but it doesn't mean I wan't to do it!

For me there is Goodwood and Brands on the doorstep, most others are oop Narf and you know us southern softies don't like going North of the river biggrin

The 2017 sprint series has been announced after a successful first season running without the Toyotas and they have improved the class structor and added 2 more rds so 8 in total with just 6 counting for the overall honours.

http://www.javelinsprintdays.co.uk/sprint/index.ph...

I be there after doing all bar 1 rd in my exocet last year which I managed to win my class overall and finish 10th overall and was the highest position driver to have missed a rd. Winter rebuild happening atm which should improve times by atleast 2s per lap if not more at each track and going for the title overall too.

Be good too see some more PH members at the events.

These are really great days.

I did Woodbridge in 2014 (I think) and it was great!

The most fun can be had when there are similar cars competing together; there have been a lot of gt86's and it's fantastic sport between the standard cars , usually separated by a few tenths.

I'll try and make a few of the southern ones in my Renault Megane smile

I intend to get myself along to the Croft one in June, Never been to one before and probably the closest I'll get to anything competitive.

I know this is going to be a grey question with umpteen variables, But does anyone know roughly how the timing of the sprints compare to full lap times with a running start over the start/finish line at Croft? As I have driven it a couple of times now, Just I was skimming over last years results.

The start and finish lines are both on the main straight, with probably about 100 yards between the two. I'd imagine the times would be pretty similar to a full flying lap, but I've not done a full TD at Croft so i don't have anything empirical to base that off!

Here's my vid from Croft last year if it helps give you an idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biIsKwXb1zk

Standing start and flying finish won't translate timings. Like you said lots of variables. Got a few jobs to do on my bmw to be ready for the first round at Snetterton

Depends on cars/drivers etc but I did a 1.36 flat in my turbo charged mev exocet running 190bhp then a mate who runs a race exocet with similar power but little bit more weight on a flying lap did a 1.35 flat so not far away. Both on dry warm days 2 weeks apart infact.

Ive got better brakes/more power and better handling this year so aiming to get 1.32 this year.

First rd is well on its way to selling out think its up to 50 cars booked so far so if you fancy trying out the first rd at snetterton its not going to be long till its a sell out.

First 2 rounds done some very close class results and a surprising look to the top 10. I'm currently 2nd overall after a 2nd place and 6th place finish in the first 2 events. Rd3 is now sold out but plenty of spaces in the remaining 5 rounds.
