Nurburgring. You'd need to be driving a vulcan bomber to trip their limit.
Agreed, I think the limit at the 'Ring is around 145bd, it is certainly very high, Spa also has a high nose limit, although I don't know the exact figure.juansolo said:
The only thing I've ever seen removed from Spa for noise was a Lola T70. It sounded like an angry god gargling. IMO they should have removed everyone else from the track and made us to listen to it. There should be an awesomeness clause in the sound rules, if you're running a 7 litre V8 LeMans car, you can pass. Johnny big-bore on a 4 pot, you're going home.
haha. great post.140db is mentally loud
For comparison, the prodigy concert I went to once was measured at 130db on the concert display and the old V10 F1 cars were approaching 140db (I think the current Turbo ones are around 120 - admittedly, a rather poor sounding 120 too)
for a track car to get anywhere even approaching those levels is nuts
In the real world, my Rs4 is around 96db on drive by and a friends Gallardo Superleggara, which is a loud car, is around 108
I suspect the 458 Speciale and the 430 Scuderias are a bit louder again, but I'm sure someone will come along soon and give a number for them
