Anyone else going to this Javelin run day?

I'm looking forward to it as always, I like Bedford for the variety of corners and ample run-off. It's a good track for the first trackday of the year IMHO, lets me get back into the groove after not tracking for a few months.

Not too fussed about the weather, obviously cool and sunny would be great, but if it rains I don't mind, just means I won't be killing the tyres quite so much! smile

Will be there in my 7 (so hoping for a dry day, obviously), with a friend in another 7. Forecast is looking good at the moment:

- will be a bit chilly for those of us in open cars, but not too bad.

Will be interested to see what the new corner is like, on paper it looks like they've replaced the best corner with something a bit dull but I'll withhold judgement until I drive it.

I didn't know they'd re-configured the circut, so thanks for the image. Will have to remember that, or I'll go sailing past the brake point! It does look like it'll slow down that section of track a little bit.

Still can't wait, hope the weather report's accurate then. smile Seeya there.

Ha. It's a small world.

I didn't actually meet with rodgling on the day although I did see his car after he mentioned it in another thread.

I did however meet you momentarily Ash. I was the chap who came to apologise to you after I got black flagged and had my wrists slapped by Colin (I presume?), following a couple of alleged altercations on my side with regards to overtaking.

The chap with the white hair and beard (Colin?) specifically mentioned that he saw me personally aggressively tailgating/forcing the VX220 to move over on track, although whilst I recall closing in fast through the corner exit, I also recall you were aware and indicated and moved to the right allowing me to keep my exit speed and not have to slow down with enough space left between us to stay commited. He said I was making you panic......and if you got it wrong/spun.....etc. etc.

Anyway, I wasn't going to argue and I said that I will apologise to the driver, which I followed up on. If I had seen this thread prior and knew it was you I would have chatted with you. and rodgling too for that matter smile

Next time wink

Yeah, I thought that was a bit odd to be honest, as you weren't overly close I don't think. As you say I knew you were there (I'm well aware I'm one of the slower guys out there) and as soon as I could and thought you were close enough I moved over. But Colin does have to ensure everyone's safe I suppose and he doesn't know how some drivers may react to being approached at pace I guess. Either way I had a great day, it was brilliant having so few cars booked in, made the track time far more enjoyable for me personally. It was good to meet you, if I'd known you were on here we'd have surely chatted longer. smile

Anyway, it wasn't a problem for at all, but Colin has to be safe and consider all driver abilities and awareness I guess. beer

I take your and Colin's views on board. In my opinion lack of awareness is the problem however, not the other way around.

I am always aware of what's behind me and ensure I'm not getting in the way, I can't say the same for many others, but I accept that it's a mixed bag on any given day. The one's who do frustrate are the one's who intentionally do not give way, only to embarrass themselves further down the line by pushing too hard.

I agree, it was nice to have the space to press on for a few laps in a row without obstruction. Definitely the next time we are on track we shall mingle smile
