Also have an e36 328, but wouldn't touch ebc (again) if you paid me!

I have tried many different pads/manufacturers, ebc red/yellow/blue, all were rubbish, ds2500 were ok, mintex 1144 were too, but ebc! 1 day at Cadwell if I was lucky, most of the time not even a full day.

You need to try either DS uno or pagid rs29, you will not look back.

1 set of discs &. full year of td's out of one set, with MUCH better braking, and pad life to spare.
Thats odd, I know a few people in my championship that run blues / yellows, (reds are rubbish allround though!) and don't have problems, The blues are the championship pad for the BMW Cup Championship (E46 version of the Compact Cup) E46 325 compacts, not far away from a 328 in power and weight.

Did you have any cooling on your 328

I'm not saying the EBC range is the nuts, all the ones you mentioned are probably better (never tried them personally) but for the money you pay £60 for a front set of blues iirc is pretty good.

Stopping power wise they are the same as every other pad - only as good as your abs ergo you are braking to the limit of your tyres grip capability, its the longevity i'm guessing is the advantage of the more expensive pads? does a set that is twice as expensive last twice as long? I don't know.

Well, took the plunge and went for the Ferodo 2500 again, all set for tomorrow, praying for dryer and warmer weather than is currently predicted.

the clio 172/182 cup race cars use stock discs and calipers. ours has 205 section slicks and uses ds3000 pads all round. braking performance on trackdays [3hr open pit, 2 people sharing the car] is never an issue. car weighs somewhere around 900kg.

2500's should be a decent compromise for a car you use on the road and don't run continuously. brake late and hard rather than earlier/longer.

I know I have jumped in a wee bit late here but I'm coing to throw Carbotech's into the mix.

I have some XP8s on my car. Along with good fluid I have yet to cook my brakes, and they give you plenty of warning that they are starting to go off so you get no "oh st" moments. I would expect my car is probably putting a wee bit more energy into the brakes too wink

Run them on the road as well, really can't rate them enough!

I wanted to know if anyone has a hidden gem of a site for race temp brakes?
I know you have got sorted now but for future reference I can help you out with brakes, Feirny has linked to it on the previous page. I like to look after car/track days enthusiasts , as I am one myself

He's on Cliosport.net and I've used him for years, no one has ever a bad word to say about him.
He was formally G 172, have a search on there for him.
Thanks a lot Greg.

Just sorted a quote for your Elise brakes mate
