Faster Track Day companies

I see the appeal of a Radical, as I get very frustrated with driving my roads cars on track even though they are set up well, they are still frustrating with understeer etc.
best car I had for track was a 190BHp NA exige with 3 way ohlins and AP brakes, you could set that up to drive how you liked but it was not silly fast to catch a car every 10 seconds.

Best track car is a 130hp Caterham Superlight in terms of speed and fun.
The Radical argument I understand because I've done it. I'd been driving Caterhams for ages and just wanted something different to drive that was more challenging. An aero car will give you that in spades. There's just nothing like them. BUT you have to drive with curtesy to other track users on a track day and choose your track days wisely (stick to big circuits with organisers that keep the numbers low). Do this and it's entirely possibly to enjoy a downforce car without causing a nuisance. Not having a competitive bone in my body means that racing wasn't something I wanted to do. plus doing it on a shoestring meant nor could I afford it. Track days, treated properly can be enjoyed in a Punto to a Juno. You just need people to not behave like idiots.
As for the need to be the fastest thing on track. Where I'm sure this applies to some owners, there's ALWAYS someone faster. No matter what you have. So don't bother if that's your only motivation.

Very good point. Racing isn't always the natural progression from trackdaying that some people may suggest; there's a big crossover of skills but it's a totally different kind of event which may often appeal to totally different drivers.I have a pretty quick track car, and coming up behind people at speed happens to me a lot. But, I have done all the racing I ever want to do (not car racing I might add, sidecar motocross) I have no wish to race my car or get an ARDS licence. It's simply a case of self control, have patience with people and have respect for them, they have paid the same amount as me and they should enjoy it equally as much as I do. I just enjoy driving a race circuit, my car is fast and it gives me great pleasure to drive it hard, but only when it's safe for everyone. No one is looking for a qualifying lap.
Cheers for all the feedback lads. I'm doing my ARDS on Monday and I'll give a test day a go to see how I fair on there. As mentioned I didn't buy the Radical to be quickest, I bought it as it offered the most fun per buck (I paid £16K for it) and it's a total different type of driving to my tin tops. Cheer again.

You would be most welcome at an RMA day and despite reading about Radicals being banned, I can confirm there is no truth in this, now or in the past years!
We had 9 Radicals with us at Silverstone a few weeks ago, all very good drivers and not one complaint from
other drivers.
We enforce strict high driving standards and do not accept novices without a Grade A ARDS instructor so providing you are a competent driver, you will be fine on our days. Overtaking both sides works extremely well, as a racing driver myself, I know how frustrating overtake on one side can be if you're in a quick car(such as a race car) on a track day. Whilst we don't allow timing, we do want everyone to get the maximum out of our days.
I do believe there is a thread on here with a few complaints - unfortunately we weren't approached by these customers and it is impossible for us to do anything if we aren't informed direct. We did take onboard feedback from that particular event and all of our other events from 2014 and have made a few changes accordingly - anyone who hasn't attended one of our days in the last 6 months will probably be pleasantly surprised.
Hopefully we will see a few of you soon, do feel free to call up and discuss further if you wish to.

I don`t like complaining about companies online after the event when they aren`t there to defend themselves. If I have an issue with a TDO or am happy with the day, I`ll tell them either way. I agree you can`t change things if you don`t know about them.
However, after sitting through a briefing where I was swore at most of the time and told `If I didn`t understand effing the flags, I probably shouldn`t be on the day` it was highly unlikely that anyone was going to put their hand up to ask a question or come and have a word afterwards !
Good to hear you`ve taken comments like that onboard and made a few changes
