I`ll be at Croft on the 6th July, going with a few mates, I`ve only done it once before, years ago and I`m looking forward to this. Will be taking the Golf and I`m hoping for good weather..

Anyone going from here ? It`s always good to say `hi` to a fellow PH`er.smile

As said, Opentrack. Never used them before...

Car is getting ther, doors and wings back on yesterday, windscreen going in today, then I can refit the bonnet, bumper, splitter etc.

Seats and harnesses should be going in on today too and if Hi-Spec keep their promises, the brakes I ordered 2 months ago should be here on Friday too.

I HATE last minute stuff like that, the brakes should have been here weeks ago mad If not, I`ll be running the old OEM calipers that have served me well for the last 8 years, but the pads are fairly worn and I can`t see the point of buying new seeing as they aren`t supposed to be used again.

Anyway, moan over, I`m hopeful they`ll arrive biggrin

I got straight to the A1, must have gone a different route.? M62 was closed, so needed to take a wide route home instead though.

Great day, thoroughly enjoyed it. Inner CV failed whilst turning in the paddock before the sighting laps, which was concerning. Fitted my spare and never had a problem for the rest of the day. Very odd.

Car went well, that was the only hitch. Had my first on-track puncture, which was interesting through the Esses.... Stayed on slicks all day, even in the rain, not enough standing water to warrant changing them and it`s easier to feel the car moving around at lower speeds.

A couple of minor things to sort before DN12 in a couple of weeks, but nothing that`s going to stop me being there, so the day was a success as a shakedown !

Day was well run, a couple of red flags caused the usual queues straight after, but apart from that it ran well. Some kind soul dumped oil round the entire circuit near the end of the day, which was a bit of a pain.

Looking forward to the photos from the photographers I spotted around the circuit.

Oh and there were no donuts... Boo !

That was one fast Golf you were driving there! First time at Croft and first time with Opentrack, both good we thought. I think it was the Hillman Imp that laid oil right around the track near the end, at least you could see it on top of the water and it made for an interesting challenge to spice up the aftrenoon.
Thanks Dave also for the ride in your Porsche, very nicely sorted car that doesn't show its age.

Some decent pics from the photographer ! smile

Panning with shutter speeds this low isn`t easy, but he`s kept the car really sharp on loads of photos ! Oh, and you can see I went out without my door fully closed too whistle

He even stayed out in the wet.

It also shows up the front end is tidy after I resprayed it, but the rear quarter looks a different colour now. I need to get that done too laugh

Thanks Sean. I think.... Is that some sort of backhanded compliment ? laugh

I agree about DN10, but to be fair, Darren has done a lot to address that with no Novices and reduced attendees. He`s booked the good weather too, so I`m hopefuly we`ll have a fantastic time driving

Yep, backhand compliment.
I agree too with what Darren's doing to address, he's a top lad. Wish I was there but my car is poorly with gearbox issues, being rebuilt plus other bits.

I was at the Ring last week in my flooring van, walloped the Top Gear record by 11 albeit it handled like Noah's Arc, new Eibachs were far too soft hampered laps plus was hotter than the Sahara, fun though.....
Hope you have a great time.
