Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of this company - what are they like at their days and tuition?

http://www.motorsport-events.com/index.php

Been looking to book Abingdon, Silverstone or Hullavington for a 'day out'.

Found the track details on Trackdays.co.uk, but interested to know if motorsports-events actually run the events themselves as I believe trackdays.co.uk are an umbrella co?

Trackdays(.co.uk) are a reseller of other TDO's events.

Motorsport Events are a traditional TDO, well organised days that attract drivers with a range of abilities.

Are you thinking of a trackday or an experience day? The trackday instructors are all ARDS instructors with competitive racing experience. No idea about the experience day instructors.

I was very happy with the standards at the MSE day I did recently. Chilled out, friendly, but very professional.

Thanks for the replies - I'd rather deal direct with the people that actually run the event.

My other bought me an Advanced Skid-Pan day at Thruxton for my Birthday, (not really my thing), so want to change this for an OPL TD.

I have about 5 different track experiences (not in my own car) and the missus is a bit nervous about having a go (because it's our own car and doesn't have that much experience), although I'm sure she will love it after a lap or two.

Thinking initially of maybe an airfield (plenty of runoff) with maybe a 3-4, 20min sessions over the day to 'get us up to speed'. I know Silverstone does't really fall into that category, but the circuit looks good!

Looking around the SW of the UK.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome - Thank you.

BTW: Been looking at Moris for insurance, not cheap, but guess it's a 'no brainer'?

MSE are extremely good, very friendly and police their events very well. They have been operating for many years and have very many repeat customers, which is always a good sign. The tracks they lay out work for all types of car and driver ability and they have ARDS Instructors to get you comfortable whist out on track.
Give them a call and speak to Natasha or Ed Moore and I am confident that they will put you at ease and let you know how their days work.

Thanks for all the positive feedback.

Rang and spoke with Ed, sounded very proffessional - so, all booked up for the 28th Aug Abingdon!

It's a very long briefing, but a good track day all in all.

You'll have a great time - Abingdon is the best of their airfield layouts IMHO.
