I'd like to get on this, but it's now fully booked. I'll give them a ring and see if I can get on a reserve list.

We got some good weather and had a great morning. Was way laid in the afternoon by my turbo to manifold bolts coming loose. Seems to be a repeating issue so taken some advice on the matter and will fix it properly this time.

Couple of passenger rides which were great fun. Nick's supercharged mx5 is entertainingly controllable. I forget your name I'm afraid but thanks very much to you if you were the one who took me out in your rx8. Really impressive car and very much looking forward to the build on mine being completed so I can take it on track.

Cheers

Cracking day that turned out to be, i racked up 180 miles on the circuit in the Ludikriss Eunos, deffo need some new tyres now after a few moments and plenty of slideways fun.
Mark,( F355) your Cat was blisteringly quick, and finally good to meet you.
Mark, Boxter S, good to spend most of the day with you as a neighbour, thanks for the ride in yer Porker, though i feel i may have converted you to the MX5 Club!!!
Mark, theres a pattern here, ref your manifold bolts. I had the same issue on my MX5 Turbo, ended up getting them re studded and drilled and wired, had no problems since....for about £160 with new gaskets fitted it was well worth getting them done.
To the guys that didnt finish the day, i hope theres nowt too terminal, Nick, Trackerjack, the VX220 and a caterham all fell victim from what i saw.

I will upload a bit of vid when i get time, only one 20 min session as i left my camera charger at home ....Duh

Was a brilliant day and good to meet you Darren, the car was brilliantly balanced and seemed to just fly. I thought i had some pics of you but it turns out it was the other red Mk1, I think we must have been on track at the same time hence no pics frown

Just booked for 25th September smile

Gutted I didn't book it in time; a friend was there in a Mini and had a great time.

Some other kits have had difficulties with turbo to manifold studs. Apparently the metals have different coefficients of expansion causing them to loosen, inconel studs seem to be a solution. http://southernkitcars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7...

I'm starting to see that it's not just me. There also seem to be quite a few different solutions which is good news. I've never managed to get it to happen on the road. Hardly surprising I guess as I push it quite hard on the track.

Cheers,

Mark
