Take it to Cadwell Park (only short straights and 15 corners) and learn to carry speed through the corners and you will have a lot of fun with 138 bhp. You will then want some track tyres.......

I love it too and it's only 45 miles from home for me. My car is the same weight as yours but 300 bhp. Probably no quicker in the corners.....
Only difference is I am off down the straights while you are checking your phone for emails and listening the radio. byebye

Must be your driving. Never had an issue and drove the thing to within an inch of its life.

Funyo 4rs

Pro's:
- verry fast
- verry direct feeling
- cheap parts
- makes me feel like driving a le mans car ☺

Cons:
- people in street cars do not allways see you coming because of the height difference
- Not allowed on every trackday
- cant take it for a weekend blast on the country roads
- Verry steep learning curve, takes a few trackdays to get the hang of it

Had to google that one! I thought it was an RGB car at first, along the lines of the AB Sabre.

Looks fun beer

Do excuse the antenna, was a real interesting piece on radio 4 :-)

pros,

usually the only one at a trackday and because its mine and i love it.

cons,

cant really think of any, it gets me to the event, screams around all day and gets me home. Cheap tax/insurance/maintenance, whats not to like.

Here is a quick 5min video from croft earlier in the year

Fiat Coupe 16vt 2ltr:

Why? Having the integrale engine in it and plenty of space means getting big reliable power was easy and it's more of a test bed, but it's a heavy long legged thing so suits motorways big flowing tracks like Donny etc.

Current spec is:

500bhp
Strengthened 'box
Thicker ARBS
Adjustable coilovers
Wilwood calipers/discs
ABS removed
16 shades of red & pink
Sunroof removed, battery in boot, rear interior removed, rust eaten away at much of the bodywork so a bit lighter.

Fibreglass bonnet on the way for next year as the OE one weighs 27kg! Also some gear related boost control and manual rear brake bias.

Long time lurker but felt like I should start contributing.

Mine is a recent purchase as I'd done a bit of track driving a few years ago and realised that really missed it. Owned a couple of ZR's and fancied this. Read up loads about them before the purchase but that didn't really help. On a trip out a couple weekends ago it decided to give itself an oil change by blowing the rear bank camshaft oil seal, least it will keep me busy over the winter. :P

Pro's
Honda Chassis/suspension and handles great (even with the V6)
Sounds great
Cheap to insure
Feels like you're driving a touring car.
Great fun on a twisty B-road

Con's
It's broken
Really rather loud

I'll have to update this next year when its fixed and its been on track.

Really rather loud......

Do you think you might need to have your noise level checked before you venture on track. Most circuits willbe happy to test if for you if you just ask and they have a track day that day.

The problem is, if you know it's borderline you've no guarantee you'll pass at one trackday just because you passed at another. My car seems to get wildly different results every time. Different equipment and different people testing I guess.

Most track day limits are between 101 and 105 db(A). My car has been anywhere between 99 and 107, totally backing up what Tommy says. Atmospherics, equipment etc.....damp early mornings are the worst.

I always carry a set of bolt on silencers with me, but still failed by 2dB at Bedford on one damp, misty occasion, even with those on. They brought me down from 107 to 103. Bedford is 101. And I had a nephew waiting to drive my car - double annoyance.
The gods smiled on me that day - next car on the noise test was Petrol Ted (founder of PH) in his GT3 Porsche. He did 103dB too. They knew who he was, and decided that, if his GT3 was failing, then their test equipment must be faulty. We all got on. Nobody tripped the drive by all day, which at Bedford is the bit that gets reported to the local council.

But a TVR owning friend of mine failed the noise test at Castle Combe this summer, and because he had non-standard exhausts, we couldn't fit our extra cans to his car. Not allowed on track, fee forfeited.

So if you get it tested and find you are anything over about 98 dB, I recommend you calm your exhaust down. Otherwise you could be going home at 8.30am, no refund.
