I haven't been to Mallory for ages, and as it's a 105db day I thought I'd risk taking part.

Does anyone know what the drive by limit is and how easy is it to fall foul of?

I noticed that the Javelin event instructions sheet has "temporary noise reduction devices are forbidden" in the noise test section. I've not seen this before so wondered if this is unique to Mallory or Javelin always include it and I've just not seen it. My car depends on Decibel Devil inserts that are clamped in place.

That's mainly so that they are securely on the vehicle so they can't fall off out on track and also so it's not simply a case of someone bunging something in for a noise test to cheat it and then whipping it off when they go on track and causing a problem for the venue.

Hmmmm, I guessed, but half the cars I ever see on a track day have some sort of noise attenuation added. Hope this doesn't mess up the day, it would be pants to be refused and then be trapped on the infield until lunch time.

So I got black flagged after two laps.

I think it's the downshift kill that's doing if, on the straight it doesn't sound that loud really. There's a Big Bang and flames on downshifts so I think I need to try and stop it from doing so.
