Sumo, I will be instructing on Monday for Circuit Days, you can email Chris at CD (info@circuitdays.co.uk) to see what availability is like or just see if there's any slots available on the day beer

Yea, I'm in, you've got a vested interest not to crash and usually when they put me in a car like that it's round Cadwell yikes .

I took Friday off to have a day out at Litchfield - went for the service and ended leaving at 8pm with an upgraded intercooler and remap to the latest version as well as steel brake linings with Castrol SRF fluid.

Car was a beast on the MAHA rollers - Iain thought we may get 640 to 645bhp as it was 624bhp last time it was checked after the Stage 4. Bearing in mind I still have OEM downpipes (with cats) in place, we didn't expect more.

So 30 mins of tinkering on the dyno gets 673bhp and 630lb/ft torque!! The OEM turbos were absolutely flat out so it was agreed to retard the timing by 1 degree for gearbox safety and reduce engine bay heat leaving me with a meagre 656bhp and 617lb/ft torque!!

Steve - make yourself known.

Lets hope its dry!!

Dry would be best laugh.

I'll be about the place during signing on, there's three of us instructing on the day but I'll try to sort timetables so I'm in with you (unless it's wet, then I'll get one of the others to do it wink ).

I'm on the reserve list .........

...... I shall turn up and hope.

David wavey if you've booked a garage, may I please dump
my stuff in it?, or if you don't have one, are there any other kind PH'ers
who would let me scrounge a small corner of theirs? (this assumes I can get out on track).

You will be faster....due to my lack of talent and the car with me on board being almost 2 tonnes!!

Did you rent a garage? If so, is there any space left that I can "borrow"??

Happy to take you out for a few laps in exchange...

A great day had here too. Hope I didn't impede anyone in my black Clio. Was chuffed with how it went. Superb weather.
The GTR was insanely quick. Swallowed up several cars in one gulp on the Wellington Straight.
Hats off to you sir.

Great day and thankfully stayed dry.

I didn't get a chance to say hi to everyone, I was either on track fully enjoying the car or out to Shell getting more fuel!! Managed 58 miles on my first tank of V Power!!!!

It was a busy day on track but no waiting so all good.

Nige - sorry the day didn't go well for you.

Roll on next time.

Well, that didn`t go as planned mad

Drive flange sheared on the gearbox, never had that before. Unfortunately it was on lap 3...

What made it worse was the conditions, it was bloody perfect ! Dry, cool and no queuing apart from a short sting in the afternoon when the car dropped fluid.

I WILL be going again, Spoke to Chris at Circuit days and they are planning on doing another Silverstone GP early next year, so I`ll start another thread when I know the days and try again smile

I do apologise to those of you who tried talking to me, fortunately, you all seemed to understand when I said `please, don`t take offense but I don`t want to talk right now`. I wasn`t having a particularly good day.....

Managed to jack out the drive flange with 4 bolts and sockets.

Once out, the problem was obvious

The end had sheared off, leaving the circlip in the diff. This is pretty odd, that part doesn`t take any load and as the broken off end is where it should be, I don`t believe the flange had come out a bit THEN sheared.

What made it worse was, I had spares. At home..

Todays job is to inspect for spline damage in the diff, if it`s all OK I`ll refit a spare output flange and get it back on the trailer ready for Brands in 2 weeks.

What a cracking day, 1st time for me on the GP circuit and i was a bit "tentative" to begin with. Finding out all day where i could and couldnt get grip, go flat out through corners and/or miss the corners completelylaugh
Had my lad with me for the day who, to be honest, was a lot braver than me to begin with. the fact that it was my car, my brakes and my money that was paying for it.....
thought the day went great, the briefing seemed to be "have you all done a trackday before, ok then off you go"...seemed to work as i didnt see any bad behaviour out there at all....awesome driving by everyoneclap

shame about the delay at the end of the day, hope everyone got sorted, Ginetta (??) bk deep in the gravel and the 3 series with what looked like a suspension failure. This all meant the last hour or so was like the wacky races....excellent fun.
I took a bit of vid throughout the day and will post up later.
