I'm going to have one last trackday this year and both Anglesey and Donington (National) are an option.

Which is best, I'm in an Elise if that make a difference?

I live one mile from Donington Park and it's my second favourite track.

My favourite track?...........Anglesey Coastal. It is awesome and well worth the trip. If Anglesey was in the south if England, it would be the venue for the British GP. The best track in the country.

Both great choices to be fair.

Might be worth saving Anglesey until next summer, it's glorious on a nice day but pretty bleak when the rain is coming in sideways yes

Anglesey is pretty good, I think I prefer Donington though.

Last cold wet track day I attended was at Cadwell Park. I sat out the first 90 minutes in the cafe.......and watched two brave/over-ambitious Lotus drivers spear off the track at the top of the Mountain and trash both ends of their cars on the armco.

This time last year 8 of us TD regulars in TVRs booked a day at Brands, 2nd Dec. It drizzled all day. The trsck ad been scrubbed after a major oil spill the previous week. I managed four laps, and slid down Graham Hill (ooh Matron!!) at 25 mph, fully locked up and sideways on, praying the barriers would stay far enough away.

You are coming a long way - save your money and your car for next year's warm weather fun.

Have done both in an Elise this year and both were brilliant (in the dry)
Tough call as both are so good.
More tight/slower corners/hairpins at Anglesey if that makes a difference to you

Or, do trackdays whenever you feel like it, bring the right tyres and build up slowly.

For all my dicey moments and crashes on track I have suffered neither at Donington nor Anglesey.

Of the two, Angelsey. Or better still, Oulton

As a winter option, Donny best bet.

Save the tighter twistier stuff for summer I reckon

Anglesey. Who knows you might get one of them clear winter days.

The real criteria would be is there a significant difference in travel time to either ?

He's coming from Scotland.

If I was, I would book two or three track days in a week, and have a little summer touring trip with a few car nut friends.
I met a pack of four x 500 bhp Saab owners from Scotland a couple of years back, doing a track day tour in summer and having fun as well as fixing car breakages as they went.

One of these days I plan on doing Croft and Knock Hill, but I will do them in summer, not winter.
Yes, you can get perfect days in winter - I went and watched a track day on Boxing Day in perfect weather, and was annoyed I wasn't booked on it, but wet track days are a risk with anything rear wheel drive and/or powerful, and I have more fun on the limit in the dry.

Just my opinion.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Going to book one on Tuesday (for next Sunday), I'm still undecided but leaning towards Anglesey. They are both pretty much the same distance, I'm just outside Edinburgh.

Regarding the possibly weather, I'm more concerned by having to do the drive there or back in heavy rain rather than the trackday, I quite like the challenge of wet trackdays.
