If you are looking for high end racing pads you will not use better regardless of any temperature
Either Endless pads , Project Mu or PF race compound's all suited to medium/heavy cars

The AX6's are supposed to be a good choice if you want something that's usable on the road, but offers good performance on track. Apparently they are very dusty though.
Yes, and yes. As you very well know: you have seen my car often enough!
Frequent wheel cleaning is a trade off for the excellent stopping power of the Carbotechs.
I'll take them over EBCs any time.

Carbotech XP8 or XP10 here, seem to take a fair beating and work no matter what the conditions. But the Pagids are hardly a poor pad either, so perhaps some ducting in order.

The DS1.11 are a brilliant pad, certainly worth considering. But I agree about getting some airflow directed through the brakes, simple and effective

I have always got on really well with Mintex, good price and great pad.
M1144 on my E30 M3 for track work and M1166 for my clio 182 track car.
You cant go wrong.

the most logical course of action. Props for taking the good advice from others.

You will be surprised how a little bit of cooling in the right place will do wonders for the endurance of your breaks as well as how much pad life will be increased. wink

I had M1144 before on a smaller brake setup and they were good. But, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get them to stop sqeeling.

The plan is to fit some RS3/TTRS brake duct flaps and take it from there.

I've got a mate with the same issue and he's gonna try the project mu pads out... He's my Guinea pig. :-)

Mintex 1144 are good pads, but as above squeal like the biggest herd of piglets ever.

I thought DS1.11 were now replaced by DS Uno, which are certainly good pads.

I can't remember what pads are on my car now, I bought 2 sets from a single seater driver who had sold up but my next set are going to be DS Uno.
Here's quite an informative little graph that shows temp vs Mu compared to their other pads and the Uno appears to perform amazingly.

Paige RS19 used on my Cerbera, never cooked them and never had them fade, smoke yes but never fade.

Work from cold, I use then on the road as well as they have such a wide temp range they are fine from cold.

I've got standard Brembo pads 312mm discs on the front and Pagid road pads on the back of my 20vt Mk3, I've had them on the car about a year and they've done about 7 trackdays. I've had no fade issues at all and looking at them I reckon there maybe another 4 or 5 days left in them

How is the bite when they are cold?

As a few people have mentioned, get some cooling to them. I use Ferodo DS3000 but they are similar quality to the Pagids.

On the new disc front, you can get them skimmed.

The Ferodo's have a pretty specific bedding in procedure, do the Pagids? Did you follow it?

Don't know about 1.11s but I thought they were now called/replaced by DS Uno & I have used the, they are fine from cold.

Having used both on my e36 the Ds3000 are nothing like as good as Pagid Rs29s, if that is what you are comparing.

Thats what I was comparing

I was basing my logic on:

Standard OEM brake pads.

Upgraded brake pads: EBC Blue / yellow

Premium Pads: Pagid RS range / Ferodo DS range / Carbon lorraine etc

I haven't personally used the Pagid RS Range, I've used EBC Blue Yellow and Ferodo DS2500 on road and race in standard E46 calipers on a 1100kg E36.

Went from EBC to DS2500 recently and they were mega, so with this seasons brake upgrade - 4 pot AP calipers, E46 M3 floating discs, with brake cooling, I've gone for the Ferodo ds3000. about £100-£150 for front axle, should I look at the Pagid RS range?
what did you use them with on your E36?

Another vote for XP8s, wouldn't use anything else if top stopping power is required.

I use AP 4-pot (Clio v6/Tuscan racer) CP6600s on the front with e46 330i discs and either DS Uno or Pagid RS29s depending what is available when I need them.

My preference is Pagids at £230 for the axle set as they DO have better feel than the DS Unos, but not by much & the DS are £180/set.

Also have AP 2-pot (Exige) CP5511s (I think) with Mintex 1144 on the rear standard discs.

Thanks, I'll look into the Pagid RS when i get through the current set of pagids.

Do you have a build thread for your E36 btw, I would be interested in reading it?

Sorry, I wasn't a member when I did it & never thought on the take pics, but if you have any specific questions I did it & it's predecessor (e36 325) so have a degree of experience on e36s at least.
