Anyone else planning on escaping Valentines day? It is my first track day, can't wait!

I will be in a SilverGrey BMW 325ti, come say hello if you see me (probably backwards, on the grass).

Weather looks alright too.should be a good day for you. Go steady to start. That track will be very cold but will get better as the day goes.

I think so, I was on the track when it happened, and saw him get out (looking understandably shaken).

Yeah bottom of Paddock Hill. Think he got a bit sideways, over corrected, went in to the gravel sideways, dug in and flipped.

According to the organizers (who saw it on CCTV), that is exactly what happened. There were a few spins in that (10 minute!) session, at least three other cars lost it, and I saw a couple of close calls. The rest of the day I didn't see a single yellow flag, partly due to the track drying out a bit, and partly due to people getting a wake up call when the panda binned it.

Were you on track on Sunday?

No not on track just had a wonder down as I was bored at home. It was noticeable how much more cautious most cars were through Paddock after that!

Seemed that for a novice day there was a real spread of cars and speeds, from the Panda through to the AMG, a GT3(?) and roll-caged Beemers.

I think the blue Porsche was a Cayman GT4, well done on the owner for taking it out and driving it as it was meant to be, the C63 was a beast and must have been a bit of a handful when it was greasy. There was a nice Exige there too (which I passed* at one point driving) and an Alfa 4C. My favorite car of the day was the 106 Rallye, partly because it is awesome, and partly because it was being driven really well. It was a pleasure to follow through the twisty bits because its lines were spot on.

Least favourite cars were the two diesel 1 series, they were constantly holding up traffic and not letting people pass.

* he may have been on a cooldown lap, but I choose to believe otherwise biggrin
