Bedford Autodrome GT - right day for me?

I've not driven at Bedford before. Went as a passenger about 15 years ago. I'll be bringing the old Morgan +8 on the 30th so no one else has to worry about being the slowest! I'll get some extra mirrors fitted! I have a feeling I would be more suited to doing a road car only track day. Has anyone done these?

Well I've gone and booked myself in for May 28th. Will be in a silver (a few different shades) mx5 if anyone wants to say hello/show me how its done!

Did GT circuit today in my little Skoda Fabia. Longest UK track I have driven and 1km straight is pretty awesome

Would do it again for sure. Was a pretty good value day really. £135 I think it was.

Hasn't Bedford changed an awful lot now?

Compared to when? I know they put a new right/left combo (it's not really a chicane) in about a year ago which a lot of people complained about, but personally I like it.

We'll be there on the 28th too - Mrs Trickster in her first solo outing in the Spyder, I'll be in the GT4 for it's first outing (assuming it passes the static noise test) - be gentle on us guys

As there are no pit garages on these days - what are people doing about taking tools and spare parts. Am going up in my trcak car and dont want to leave these sloshing around in the car when on track....do people just leave stuff in the 'car park'

Yeah I did. No difference between that and the garages really security wise and I've never heard of anyone having anything robbed on a trackday before....

I echo that last comment - in 30+ track days I have never had anything nicked, and I take quite a lot of stuff. If you get across to the main pits quickly after the briefing you increase your chances of getting the open fronted shed space that passes for garages. But if not, just say hi to those along that row and add your stuff to theirs so it's out of the way of cars.

I put some kit inside the hall next to the garages last month, with the ok from the TDO's (Javelin).

Yes, it's much more Polo friendly now.

Bedford hasn't changed much in 17 years apart from West 8 last year, as said earlier.

What makes you think it has changed ?

I thought it had been changed a lot but I've only ever done the s and w circuit.

South has never changed - West 8 changed so SW only ever had one change, and obviously GT. East was extended a few years ago but that didn't affect GT.
