Has anyone been at a sprintandtrackday.co.uk event at Curborough?

No but driven at curborough a few times. All I would say is that cost would have to be very cheap as it's a very dull circuit for cars IMO.

Yes, many! Skylinecrazy on here is one of the organisers.

Hands down the best value tracktime you can get anywhere, plus the atmosphere and banter is great. They do stopwatch timing with a leaderboard which adds a lot to the day. Give it a go!

Easy now, lets not get carried away shall we, that's simply not the case. It might be cheap but you get hardly any seat time owing to the one at a time nature of the track. You sit around queuing most of the day and get to drive around a relatively dull track for about 1 minute on cold tyres and brakes.

I've been a few times but honestly not sure I would bother any more even if it was extremely cheap.

I suppose it depends on what you are competing in as to whether it is a "dull " track or not. I know that the VSCC have been using it for many, many years for their sprint held on the first weekend in May. Likewise AMOC hold a sprint every September.

Well I race and have been doing trackdays for a long time and I still think it's great value, particularly for someone who wants to have a go at track driving. The risks are relatively low and your overall costs in consumables are much less than a 'proper' trackday. I can't say I've ever left there feeling short-changed by the experience, but we're all entitled to our own opinions wink

ETA: They've changed the format recently to batches like a Speed event, so there's much less time queuing!!

I'm not sure I'd agree. Speeds are low, but due to the length of the track you never really get the tyres that warm, which if you're running TD tyres means they're cold and snappy. Further, due to the narrowness, you never really get chance to explore what the car does around the limit safely. The ground is also very soft so if you do get it wrong it's easy for the car to dig in...

For the money, I would suggest an evening TD is better value. Or even an airfield day.

Just curious as to how this is categorised as a track day when a competitive element has been introduced with timing and a leaderboard as part of the day?

Doesnt it just makes it a competitive event i.e a Sprint??

It's not a race, you're just timed with the times given for the purposes of comparison. There's no awards given so I believe that's how they get around the usual insurance issues...

I've always found the track enjoyable and it's not the easiest to get a quick time from, so that keeps me interested. If speed events aren't your thing though I can see how you might find it dull.

Driven it many times in the Caterham but only on MSA sprints. I quite like it and find it pretty challenging when trying to knock off the 10ths, but it's not to everyone's taste.
